Pia wrote: "Hi! Does Ender's game work for this task? Just asking as it's YA"Hi Pia! Ender's Game works for Option 4 or Option 5 if you have not read it before. YA works, you have to be careful if the genre lists children.

Both of these are approved. Malcolm Gladwell is an awesome business author.
For option 5, does this just mean that it's a book that is not a re-read? So even if the book has been out a while and I've read other books by the same author, it's fine as long as I haven't read this particular book...correct? Thanks for clarifying.

Can I get Reaper's Property verified for Option 2? The metadata on GR shows the setting is Coeur d'Alene, ID...I've read the 3 books in the series and they all take place (predominately) in ID and WA. I'm hoping to do a re-read before the next book in the series comes out!

Looks good!
Will A Room of One's Own by Virginia Woolf work for option 5? Never read the author or book before. Thanks!

That works. Enjoy!
In looking through lists of books published in the appropriate years for option 1, I was taken with a book by Salman Rushdie that I had never heard of before: Haroun and the Sea of Stories. I would like to read it, but I see that third on the list of genres is "childrens." Is it ok to read it for this challenge? My other choice, for option 5, is TransAtlantic by Colum McCann; I have never read anything by him before.
Cheri wrote: "In looking through lists of books published in the appropriate years for option 1, I was taken with a book by Salman Rushdie that I had never heard of before: Haroun and the Sea of Stories would be allowed for this challenge. Make sure to post the information from the AR BookFinder site when you report the task or you will have to re-post it (like I did on my very first task for this challenge). ;0)TransAtlantic also works for option 5.

Pamela, I'm originally from Idaho and graduated college in 1991 so I LOVE this task! For Option 2, a friend told me she loved the vivid descriptions of Idaho in Wallace Stegner's Angle of Repose but it sounds like the state is just one of four locations in which the book is set. Would that count?
I'm going to keep looking - if anyone has a definitive Idaho book (I love historical novels and nonfiction), I'm all ears!
Where would people recommend looking for popular books published in various years?

Change that last date to 1991 or 1992 to get those years.
Would the following books work?Option#1:
Jurassic Park
originally published 1990
Option #4:
Son
'Science fiction' is listed on the main book page and the AR Bookfinder information is as follows:
IL: MG+ BL:5.0 AR Pts: 11.0

Both of those options work for the task. Be sure to post the AR Bookfinder info when you post the task.

I played Risk most Sunday afternoons with a group of fellow students at Idaho State University from 1990-1992.
For this task, read 2 books, each from a different option.
Required: State which options you chose for this task.
1. Read a book first published in 1990, 1991, or 1992.
2. Read a book set in Idaho or about the state of Idaho.
3. Most of my classes were held in the College of Business. Read a book with the genre Business on its main page.
4. I was introduced to the wonderful world of science fiction and fantasy by a roommate. Read a book with the genre Science Fiction or Fantasy on its main page.
5. Since your college years are about exploring new options, read a book of your choice that is new to you. The author does not need to be new to you. Required: State that the book is new to you in your post.
