Play Book Tag discussion

I had only the highest level familiarity with the story of Oedipus. I may have enjoyed this a bit more had I known the story better. From what I can tell, the author did an interesting job with the re-telling.

Because this was a Booker shortlist book, I think I had higher expectations. It was good, but in no way was I blown away.

Dang - I loved this one so much! It wasn’t my favourite of the Booker list (that was The Long Take, despite my usual aversion to poetry) but I still lost myself in the characters, the sense of place, the clever structure and the emotions. It made me cry too, which is really unusual.

I loved it too. One of my favourites of last year’s Booker list. I can’t wait for this year’s!
