2022 SQHS Your Literate Life - BOOK REVIEWS ONLY discussion

This book follows rhe story of two very different teenage boys who shere the same name, Will Grayson. Our first will lives in a chicago suberb and has a best friend named Tiny Cooper who is very large and very gay and is trying to drag Will into a musical he wrote about himself. Our second Will Grayson also lives in a chicafgo supherb but sttruggles with depression, poverty and his goth and gloomy best friend Maura.

One thing that surprised me in the text was how the authors designed the meetup between the two will Graysons. They meet in a tiny uncomfortable porn shop (near New York?) that neither of the characters would have otherwise gone into if not for some very specific circumstances. I understand that the point of the book is that two different people meet in a unlikely place and its like, wow destiny. But in this case it feels like the meetup was rushed or planned after other parts of the book were written, but overall i loved the story

I liked how you were honest about how you felt some part of the book could’ve been more detailed. This sound very interesting because the two boys are almost opposites! I think you could’ve put a little more detail about the two boys, mabey who they live with, or how school looks like for them!
