Margaret (margyw) | 317 comments I rather enjoyed this novella. Witnessed by the fact I read it twice in three days!

I particularly liked the way Ben tied it into the main RoL by referencing the Folly, Peter, and the small snippet about Nightingale during WWII.

Mark | 38 comments Good read, I will no doubt read it again before False Value comes out this Autumn. I liked how it furthered the known magical world, whilst also referencing the Folly et al.

Spoilers follow...
Very interesting to see the French have re-opened their Academy. I hope we learn more about this branch of the magical world in due course. It's interesting to see how different countries practice magic - just like it was in Harry Potter with the Tri-Wizard Tournament. So far we know of UK, Germany, USA (The Virgins etc & possibly Oberon), Russia (Night Witch), China/Taiwan (Madame Teng & presumably Michael Cheung) and now France is back on the scene; are there any others mentioned so far? I'd be interested to learn how magical is practiced by other cultures around the world.

Also notable that Abigail is described as "absolutely terrifying"! It'll be interesting to see how she develops in the coming books, and in her own novella.

I want to know what Abigail did to terrify the German embassy in London. :D

Mark | 38 comments Ben has just stated on Twitter he's setting another story in Germany, this time in Schwerte. Presumably a sequel is already in the works?! :D

If this is indeed the case, I can't imagine how long his 'to-do' list is, the list of proposed projects on his blog is already rather long!

LOL I was in Schwerte like month ago! and why there? It's a bit of a... hole? I mean nice houses in historical district, great nature around, but still... Surprising, to say the least. :)

Mark | 38 comments From what I can gather on Twitter, it Schwerte's lack of appeal is precisely why he chose it! From further tweets, it appears he's working on a short story featuring Tobias/Vanessa, rather than a fully fledged sequel.

Margaret (margyw) | 317 comments Yeah, he's currently asking people whose point of view they would like the story from.

carol. | 551 comments Peter's.

Not an option. It's set in Germany.

I second that :D

Mark | 6 comments It would be interesting in seeing the paratroopers point of view.
