I read CREATURE IN THE CASE a long, long time ago, think it was a World Book Day book and I liked it but soft child that I was - it creeped the hell out of me. Didn't help that I read it late at night, with everyone asleep and possessed a very active imagination!

Laura | 1 comments It was over 10 years ago that I saw Sabriel in WHSmith and liked the sound of it. Can't believe how long ago it was! It was unlike anything I had ever read and it is up there with Harry Potter with my favourite books of all time!

message 3: by Iona (new)

Iona (ionaenglish) I only found out about the series when Hot Key announced they were publishing Clariel but since then I've started seeing it pop up everywhere. How I never noticed it before I don't know.

Heather I started with Lireal which I bought at a school book fair (in middle school- 10+ years ago) for $0.97, and I loved every page and insisted that my mother buy Sabriel for me and then Abhorsen as soon as it came out. It is by far my favorite book/series.

Heather | 3 comments My husband recommended Sabriel as soon as we started dating over 7 years ago. I listened to the audio read by Tim Curry and fell in love with the series.

message 6: by Julie (new)

Julie (keepcalmwithbooksandcoffee) This past summer my best friend found out I had never read this series and she demanded I listen to all the audiobooks. I'm so glad she did! I absolutely loved it and I'm excited to actually read it now.

Glaiza In my high school library, I'd walk around looking for SFF books and I remember picking up one of the old illustrated covers of Lirael. I fell in love with that story at 14 because I'd found a heroine who haunted a very different library to my own. When I looked for the sequel, I realised that there was another book called Sabriel which came before Lirael. I'm another reader who read the series out of order but they worked as really good stand-alones either way.

Hattie (cuppateaandasitdown) | 3 comments I have no idea! Probably I found them in the bookshop when I was younger, I did a lot of mooching about in book shops when I young. I still do in fact!

Hannah (hanseeeie) | 1 comments I received the hardback edition of Sabriel for my 12th birthday and fell in love with it! Tim Curry's reading on the audio book is well worth a listen too.

Since then, I've read each book on publication and each time I get drawn into the Old Kingdom even more. I love this series and can't wait for Clariel!

Lieke | 5 comments I don't remember, probably the same as Hatti

message 11: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 1 comments My sister had been trying to convince me to read the series for years, so glad I finally caved! Finished the books in a few weeks just in time for Clariel to come out. Can't wait!

Aislinn (aislinnoc) | 1 comments A girl in the same choir as me was reading this book, and I decided I liked the look of it, so I picked it up, and was instantly hooked. Can't wait for Clariel!
