Elements: A stolen ring, fear of spiders, and a sinister stranger.
Word Count:703
I can’t believe I lost the one ring in all of time that belongs to my one idol! What was I thinking? I had to try it on. Running through the dark corridor backstage, Roger’s eyes quickly scans each dimly light room he passed. As he ran, Roger ran by the Alex’s manager, whom shouted after him about doing some meaningless task. Being part of Alex’s, a popular entertainer, Roger was on a twelve year old kid, whom on a whim was offered a chance to work under the performer as an understudy, or so Roger assumed. So far, he has been with the crew for several weeks now and has only been allowed to act as a janitor. Coming to a stop, the boy drops down to his knees, a second later he was on all four, searching the floor as if he was searching for a lost contract len. Something sparkled just ahead of him. Turning his gaze ahead, he spots the very item he was looking for. “There it is” He grins wide, only to frown the next. The ring was slowly rolling just ahead of him. The ring disappeared under a closed door. “Hey wait” Roger hurried to his feet in some attempt to hopeful reach the ring before any more trouble could be caused. An hour earlier, he had sneak into Alex’s room on pretense that he was cleaning the room, while the entertainer was performing his act tonight. The first thing Roger had noticed about the large room was the gothic theme. Monsters in the form of stone statues were everywhere. A bed, the size of a queen, rested off to one side of the room. On the other side, the room was made up like a mini living room. Roger was clearly awe at the sight of his idol taste. However, that wasn’t what drew the boy farther inside the room. Near the large bed was this ring’s case that seems to draw the boy to it. Once he was standing above the case, peeking down, a silver ring stares back up into his face. At the moment, Roger don’t something he didn’t knew he was capable of. He took the ring. Once he was outside, he started to play with the ring. As he was about to put the ring onto his finger, he felt a sharp string pain that caused him to throw the ring. When he throws the ring, it seem o bounced out the opposite wall, only to start rolling away from him. Which led to him chasing after the small item. The only thing was: the ring didn’t stop rolling. In fact, it seems to have a mind of its own: as it dodges people feet, moving carts, and barking creatures of the crew. As Roger’s hand wrapped around the door in which the ring rolled under, he founds himself stepping inside of a eerie feeling room. The room was made up to look like another entertainer’s room, except the lights were green instead of yellow. “I better hurry. This place is kind of scary” Walking inside, he looks for the ring. It had not taken him long to find the ring. The ring had rolled across the floor to the far side of the room. Running over, Roger came to a quick stop. Taking a step back, the boy came face to face with a fear he was never able to get over. The ring had rolled inside right into the grips of an spider web, which set in the corner beside the dresser. Having a fear of spiders ever since that one incident, Roger found himself backing up slowly as a dad long leg rose from its hiding place at the corner of the web to see what had got caught into its web. “What’s the matter, little boy? Why don’t you reach for the ring” A chilling voice spoke from behind Roger. The voice was feminine, yet there was this cold tone to it that brought goose bumps to Roger’s arms and made the hairs on the back of his neck stand up. The next thing Roger knew: he was jumping up as a hand rested on his shoulder.
