Bret Armstrong (bretdude71) | 6 comments I think Hannibal Lecter (as well as Buffalo Bill) from Silence of the Lambs is extremely terrifying.

Jewel The mystery people in "Syndrome E" by Franck Thilliez. It was more horror than mystery.

Steph | 25 comments I have to give Gretchen Lowell major brownie points because she is very creepy and there are not many women serial killers in novels, but I am going to have to go with Hannibal Lecter and Buffalo Bill because I have always had a soft spot for cannibals and Bill is based on real life killer Ed Gein.

Jewel Hmm--I thought Hannibal was like the caped crusader. He "took care of" those who needed it.

I guess you are right, Jewel, especially after reading Hannibal Rising. You really feel sympathetic towards Hannibal when you find out what happens to his sister and how that made him the way he is.

Kira (kiramoody) | 104 comments It's a teen book, but the one in the Hereafter series is definitely up there with Hannibal for me. He even kills from the afterlife.
