Hello Everyone!

I am so excited to jump into this duelogy. This was voted as our July BOTM with the most votes! Are you excited? I can't wait to read your thoughts on this series.

This isn't a spoiler free area. So readers can discuss everything and anything about This Savage Song. But not Our Dark Duet.

But please do list ***SPOILERS*** above your replies in order to avoid spoiling other members.

Happy Reading!!

I'm about 64 pages in and so far its pretty interesting. Not much is going except the two main characters meeting for the first time. But the world and the monsters these people are afraid of is becoming very interesting. I am excited to know more about them and am curious as to why they only come out at night. Where did these monsters even come from? So many questions in my head haha!

Loved this book! I am very curious to see where Our Dark Duet will take us. Where is Kate and August going? Whats going to happen next?
I can't wait to continue this duelogy. I really like it. I love the different creatures and the different towns and such.

Teodora | 24 comments I just read the first chapter of it and I am kind of intrigued

Johanna (5886046-johanna) ***SPOILERS***

I liked how the story went forward first. Although after 50 procent there was only escaping happening. Which is fine if the characters are really well made and you're interested what's going to happen to them. I felt there was something lacking; characters could have been a bit deeper so that I would have been on the edge and thrilled when reading about their escape. This was still nice and enjoyable book to read.
I loved the world but I think that it could have been descriped a bit more. Now I understood AFTER reading how the monster were birthed. It was explained in the book but a bit fast and I had to start going through things in my mind before I got it. I think there would have been so much more that could have been told to make a world more alive. And think now: world with monsters??!! It sounds so really cool. But I think it could have been so much more thrilling and terrifying with something extra in it. It was lacking a bit "something". And some plot points were predictable.
There was so much good also: the writing was good, fluid and the ending was AMAZING. I'm really looking forward to know how this is going to continue. Oh my, Sloan is alive!! I think it was nice that there wasn't romance.

Teodora | 24 comments I finished the book earlier today but I needed time to calm down because it was AMAZINGLY FABULOUS.
I found the book sooo messy like I only understood it (almost) completely after I finished it. But it was so great and I so can't wait to see what happens next!! It just kept me on the verge of an anxiety attack with all that packed action! And the big plus - no romance, yess Johanna! (maybe a bit, but it was such a sweet, platonic thing it doesn't count)

Johanna (5886046-johanna) I agree with you Teodora about the romance: there was maybe a bit something but not so obviously. This was so different than so many other book, it would have been boring to read that AGAIN when main characters meets the first time the hole world stops moving xD

Teodora | 24 comments Oh I so hate when that happens! It's totally unrealistical.
If there is going to be something, at least let it grow

Johanna (5886046-johanna) I don't mind if there will be romance now after the first book, but I hope like you that it would come slower to the picture.

Oh and welcome to the group! :D

I agree with the both of you. I love the fact that there wasn't any romance. It honestly made the characters stand out so much and made them very strong towards the readers. I loved how the author separated the two characters at the end and its like.. wow.. is that it? What's going to happen?
It was a great ending for the first book! The second one is even better! Haha.

I really don't mind with the slow romance if is there to happen in the second book!

Thank you! :)

I barely can't wait to start the second book!

Louie I finally got to finish this today, and it was so good. I loved August and Kate, though August was definitely my fave. I can't wait to read the sequel, especially after that ending!

Teodora | 24 comments I really loved August from the beginning too. He is exactly the type of character that demands the reader's love and affection imho
And I also love Kate, I think she is brilliantly constructed. And together with August they are a hell of a duo.
V.E. really knows her way with her characters

Teodora | 24 comments So, I finally managed to write a review for This Savage Song so if you are interested in knowing what I was thinking about it here is the review - https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I detailed it more on my blog but there are still so many things I could talk about! :)

I just read the review on your blog and I totally agree with you about how amazing the book was and how awesome August and Kate were. Illsa was also one of my fave characters and she did not deserve what happened her. Leo was so terrible, I am really glad that it seems like he won't be in the next one.

Also your blog name The Dacian Shewolf is so cool! I love it!

Teodora | 24 comments Thank you Louie, you're too kind!
It is named like that because of my heritage :)

I think Ilsa should've had more action time, she is brilliant!
