Anna Faversham (annafaversham) | 271 comments Hi Rebekah, I write clean books which are suitable for YA. Time travel romance and historical. If you don't get any other recommendations (and I hope you do) then you might want to take a look at my author page. Anna Faversham

Mary | 61 comments Rebekah, what age? And which authors or genres or elements of books has your young adult enjoyed reading? Adventure? Sci-fi? Romance? Historical American? Historical International? Humor? Fantasy? Steampunk? Modern time period? Military? Teenage protagonists? If you give us some examples we may be able to give you some titles that will match your YA's inclinations.

Mary | 61 comments Rebekah, if it is for you, looking at your list of the books you liked on Goodreads you might enjoy one of the following:
Ella Enchanted, by Gail Carson Levine
From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler, by E.L. Konigsberg
A Long Way from Chicago, by Richard Peck
The Dark is Rising, by Susan Cooper
The Witch of Blackbird Pond, by Elizabeth George Speare
The Scarlet Pimpernel, by Baroness Orczy
Heist Society, by Aly Carter
and, if your library has some, or you have a way to read them online or download them at gutenberg.org, any of Lucy Maud Montgomery's collections of short stories

Story Eater (eaterofstories) | 7 comments Hi guys, I'm new here. I've read about 100 or so ARCs over the past year, and unfortunately, from what I've read, the YA market is a desert for clean reading. I do have a couple that are relatively clean. I would rate them between a PG/PG-13.

The Queen's Rising (The Queen’s Rising, #1) by Rebecca Ross
The Queen's Resistance (The Queen’s Rising, #2) by Rebecca Ross
Last Star Burning (Last Star Burning #1) by Caitlin Sangster
Shatter the Suns (Last Star Burning, #2) by Caitlin Sangster
Romanov by Nadine Brandes
Fawkes by Nadine Brandes
Olivia Twist by Lorie Langdon

**Update for clean books 2020:

The Forgotten Beasts of Eld by Patricia A. McKillip
The Bards of Bone Plain by Patricia A. McKillip
In the Forests of Serre by Patricia A. McKillip
Sisters of Sword and Song by Rebecca Ross
Of Salt and Shore by Annet Schaap

** Update for clean books 2021:

Finally found a market for clean books; unfortunately, many are not available at local libraries because they are small press or self-pub.
C.J. Brightley has a box called Phoenix Crate and she has a lot of good reviews on her website Noblebright.org.

Miss Landon and Aubranael (Tales of Aylfenhame #1) by Charlotte E. English
Miss Ellerby and the Ferryman (Tales of Aylfenhame #2) by Charlotte E. English
Call of Kythshire (Keepers of the Wellsprings #1) by Missy Sheldrake
The Unready Queen (The Oddmire, #2) by William Ritter
Changeling (The Oddmire, #1) by William Ritter
The Oddmire, Book 3 Deepest, Darkest by William Ritter
Half a Soul (Regency Faerie Tales, #1) by Olivia Atwater
Stolen Songbird (The Malediction Trilogy, #1) by Danielle L. Jensen
Dreams Lie Beneath by Rebecca Ross
The City Beyond the Glass by Suzannah Rowntree
The Crowns of Croswald (The Crowns of Croswald Series, #1) by D.E. Night
The Bear and the Nightingale (The Winternight Trilogy, #1) by Katherine Arden
(TBatN is pretty clean, according to my standards-it's pretty dark and has some violence, though.)

Happy Reading Watching (nashelie) Thanks this is very helpful:)
also welcome!!!
