Mike | 2 comments This is the first book of the Baseball Legends series that imagines bringing back all the greatest players in baseball history to play against the players of today (set in 2017). After a barnstorming tour in which the Legends face off against each MLB team, the 8 greatest managers of all time have the opportunity to draft a team to compete in the Legends Playoffs Series. The second book of the series has just been published and it covers the draft of each team and the 1st round of the Legends Playoff Series.

Book has a lot of information for baseball fans that covers all era of baseball as well as Negro Leagues and includes some information on Japanese star, Sadaharu Oh as well.

Dan Joseph Now that's an interesting topic. I think some greats of the past would do well in 2017 (or '19) conditions, others not so much. Any pitcher who got along on spitballs, ball scuffing, etc. would flounder; the HD cameras would catch them. Light hitting shortstops of the Rizzuto/Aparicio type would get displaced. I think the big sluggers would succeed, assuming they used lighter bats.

Mike | 2 comments The book also covers Negro League stars that many people don't even know about and addresses the debate of "Where those players really that good, or was it because they competition wasn't as good as the MLB at the time?"
