THis sounds really good!
David, what exactly must you do as moderator if your book is nominated?I thought Death Of An Old Git. Book #1 Falconer Files at .99 cents would be a good value read.
I nominate Just One Evil Act
by Elizabeth George for Group Main Read. This is book #18 in the series but can be read as a stand alone or if a person has read only a few books in the series.
I though it was excellent read and invigorated the series, which has fallen flat for me the last few books. This book has brought the series back from "jumping the shark".
I would like to nominate for the Group Main Read:Raven Black
by Ann CleevesThis is the first book in the series, which has been recommended to me and am planning to read.
Not sure if this fits in budget read or main US$6.83 on Amazon.com to me in NZ.
by R.D. Wingfieldor - same price
by Deborah CrombieETA: On reading the rules I think both of these would be main group reads so I'll just go with the Crombie one.
I would like to nominate for next months value readTo the Grave
by Steve Robinson"A curiously dated child’s suitcase arrives, unannounced and unexplained, in a modern-day Washington suburb. A week later, American genealogist Jefferson Tayte is sitting in an English hotel room, staring at the wrong end of a loaded gun."
This is the second book by English author Steve Robinson. The main character, Jason Tayte, is hired to solve genealogical mysteries in England. There are also murders to solve both in the present and the past. Each book is a standalone.
The price for this book has been the same for over a year, (US$3.99 and about the same in UK currency)and should be available on all the Amazon sites.
Marianne wrote: "Raven's Black by Ann Cleeves $5.65 USD and CDN on Amazon."Now here's a fine example of the same database - Amazon.com - but different ISP. Here in NZ I am getting the price of US$8.90 for this book! On Amazon.com.au it's 9.49. Amazing.
As the price for the kindle version of Raven's Black on Amazon.com.au is AUS$9.99, I nominated it as a Group Main Read and not a Value Read.Amazon Australia only offers the kindle versions of books. If I want to buy a hard copy I have to do that through amazon.com, but am prevented from buying kindle books from amazon.com. I agree the differences are amazing.
I am happy to change my nomination of Raven's Black from a main read to a value read.

And by the look of this your price to you is dearer than to me through .au. Quite obviously they load the prices for the .au site too. When Amazon Australia begun I never changed over because on the .au prices converted to NZ$ I was going to be paying more than on the US site. Also not only could you no longer have a .com account, but you also lost anything you had on your .com account -like any subscriptions you had would be cancelled and refund given, wish list etc. I felt it was too restrictive as much as costing more.

Same price for me although it was 2.99 when I bought it in 2012! I see the series have all been given new covers now along with a new pub. date of March 18 2014! It's a good series though. I initially got the first one, In the Blood, because of the genealogy aspect.
it appears that whichever main read wins, most voters will have preferred to read something else.
I don't know how to vote, I do try and click on the book of my choice and nothing seems to happen, it is probably me doing it all wrong.
Bill wrote: "it appears that whichever main read wins, most voters will have preferred to read something else."Just means a close call, a couple good choices. I don't think there is anything in the rules against renominating a book the next month if it loses. or am I wrong?
I am looking forward to reading whichever one wins, I haven't been around this month because the first month of school is always insane.
Where can I find out about the games? I tried to votethis month but couldn't figure out how to do it. Is there an "instructions" link?
Thanks!
Juliann
Go a few messages up and you will find a silmilar request from Me and the instruction that David sent, good luck.
