Elizabeth Meadows (lizziefaye) | 424 comments This will be our discussion thread for Part 4 of the book and also final comments about the book as a whole. If you are participating in the Summer Romance book bingo, remember that participation here counts as one point toward bingo prizes. Be sure to leave a post on Sarah's Create Your Own readathon group in the Points Tally thread letting her know to give you a point.

Donna | 95 comments Hi, Elizabeth and everyone. I finished the book yesterday as I had to get it back to the library; someone had a hold on it. Without getting into specifics at this point, I have to say I ended up liking the book more than I thought I was going to. It was a little slow going at times, but I feel it all was necessary. As I had stated on the first week's thread, it seemed like I had read the story before, but I know I had not. I also do not remember seeing a movie by either American or UK title. Was there a movie? The title?

Donna | 95 comments Here is my "review" for Goodreads; more like a commentary note: Challenges: Summer Romance Bingo 2019 - Set in two time periods (55); and, Readalong with SRB host; and, Reading Rush - an author's debut/first book (4). An exceptionally well-plotted book that made each reading session a joy to come back to. Echoes of Manderley, nods to Agatha Christie's life, and early 1900s tropes that are masterfully done. All the elements a reader of historical fiction expects make this story a favorite/classic.

Melinda | 45 comments I came to the end of the book and thought, this is it? All this build up for that? I was so disappointed in the overall story. I found the best part was that Grace and Alfred finally had a life together when they were older. I really liked the writing which gave it one star. The overall plot and setting gave it another star. Unfortunately that was it. 2 stars for a month of reading. I’ve decided to donate my other Kate Morton books as I just don’t get along with dual timelines. Glad I gave this author a try though. Thanks Elizabeth for the readalong. What’s next?
