Kate (ladykatherinebookgoddess) | 38 comments I would like to see a completely ordinary human as a major love interest. Not connected to anything. A total newbie just caught in the cross hairs. I feel like it would be kind of awesome for a Savitar or Seth to fall in love with a nobody. Someone who just makes them happy. It's a very vague idea that has just started to take root. Thoughts?

I love this idea. i'd like the book to be more zany and the love interest to be some random human guy. it feels to me that Sherri usually has almost all the supernatural powerful people as men. For example:

1) Bride and Vane
2) Maggie and Wren
3) Amanda and Kyrian
4) Grace and Julian
5) Tabitha and Valerius (Tab and Amanda both have some powers (just as DHs only have some powers) but are treated as less powerful just cuz they weren't immortal.)
6) Zephyra and Stryker (pretty sure that Zephyra was human before she got Gallu powers or something)

7) Jo and Cadegan (Jo is a reincarnated goddess with Zeus' bloodline in her but she didn't know it when she was first introduced in the book as she thought she was 100% human and was treated as such).
8) Suzan and Ravyn
9) Geary and Erik
10) Abigail and Jesse (Abigail although adopted by Daimons in the book she's treated as a human even though she's part demon or something.) ---I haven't read this one so correct me if i'm wrong---
11) Kateri and Ren (Kateri was raised as a human even though she has powers)

12) Brynna and Xander apparently

I think that's it but still Sherri NEEDS to shake it up and give us a human guy for once with 0 connection bloodline or otherwise to the paranormal.

Malachaibubble12 | 555 comments On the flip side what if the main character was a human who is as zany and odd as Bubba or Mark who is a total crazy believer in the paranormal? that'd be AMAZING. I'd be entertained every single minute. It would be so much fun !

I know we have Tabby, but her whole family are paranormal know-it-alls. I want to read about a human guy with no powers who is just a total conspiracy theorist who just Believes and does all the crazy things to get to the truth!

Kate (ladykatherinebookgoddess) | 38 comments Ha! I forgot about them! Tabby and her whole family are steaped in paranormal. Even Bride, he dad was the vet that trained Carson and Tabby is her best friend. I think it would cool to have someone completely removed to give a fresh perspective.
Have any of the immortals ever turned human? Not like Talon and all the other DHs, who end up being human but immortal and with special powers, but I legit human. I love the idea of a God turned human that has to start worrying about their blood pressure and sunburns.

Bren (brencl94) | 421 comments Same, I want a human man as a love interest and also a female demon, the only one we've had so far is Simone, and she's only half demon.

Bren (brencl94) | 421 comments Also, one that's not absolutely traumatized for some reason or the other, or was tortured or betrayed or something like that.

Yesss i'm so tired of this trope that Sherri never hesitates to put in as the norm for the non-Dark hunter/paranormal creature love interest.

Kate (ladykatherinebookgoddess) | 38 comments Slightly off topic, but I am perplexed about Stygian...I hate saying this, but it was not good. Almost unreadable. It felt like a completely different writer. Thoughts?

I genuinely loved the first half of the book with Urian's childhood and all, but once we started jumping into the future and focusing more on the romance aspect of it the quality went down hard.

The difference in the quality of the early parts of the book and the later probably has to do with the fact that she was going through the early stages of her horrific divorce while she was writing it, and wasn't 100% focused on the book. Which is why I'm not really upset at the fact that's she currently not writing anything, who knows what she would end up with. She should take some time and rest, maybe take a long vacation after the trial is over and then when she's ready go back to writing, but not before that.

Silencio (xioru) | 29 comments Indeed. It's a tragedy that Urian's book, one of the most anticipated story within the fandom, suffered due to it. SK spent so many years building him up in the background just to let him flop like this. In fact, after the first half, I personally only read for Xyn's and Styxx/Stryker part, not even Urian.

message 12: by Kate (new)

Kate (ladykatherinebookgoddess) | 38 comments Me too! I wanted there to be more interaction between Bethany and Urian. It was painfully obvious that Xyn was not an original endgame for Urian. It would have been a great slow burn throughout his appearances. Xander seems like it has potential.

Carol (ladycarol63) | 39 comments I never finished it, got bored with it. And, in fact, haven't read any other book after by S. Kenyon.
