Steph | 25 comments Gothic horror, one of the oldest subgenres, is known for its creepy settings, foreboding atmosphere, mysterious curses and death, to name a few. What is your favorite Gothic novel?

message 2: by Steph (new)

Steph | 25 comments I personally love the classic gothic horror, such as anything by Edgar Allan Poe, Dracula, and Frankenstein.

I loved the The Monstrumologist series by Rick Yancey. They feel pretty gothic to me, and remind me a lot of the Stoker/Shelley/Poe vibe. Would you call that gothic horror?

message 4: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie | 37 comments I agree about the gothic vibe. I would certainly put them in the Gothic Horror category.

message 5: by Steph (new)

Steph | 25 comments This made me giggle because so many of them do occur in gothic horror books.
