I think reading some prior nominations that weren't selected is a good idea.Did I miss August's book selection and meeting location, or are we skipping August?
The Hugo novel winner, "The Calculating Stars", is only $2.99 on Kindle today-- Lets say we read that next.

So August will be sci-fi. The novel Red Shirts by John Scalzi was suggested. I'm thinking we should keep putting up past nominations that weren't chosen but got a couple of votes
September will be fantasy. Anyone a fan of Stephen R. Donaldson? Have you read the Mordant's Need series? Only two books, the first one is The Mirror of Her Dreams. One of my favorites.
