Figured if we're going to have a TV thread, it only makes since to have one for the books.

I'm currently reading book 1, and I'm loving it. Anyone else currently reading, or has read them?

Outlander (Outlander, #1) by Diana Gabaldon Dragonfly in Amber (Outlander, #2) by Diana Gabaldon Voyager (Outlander, #3) by Diana Gabaldon Drums of Autumn (Outlander, #4) by Diana Gabaldon The Fiery Cross (Outlander, #5) by Diana Gabaldon A Breath of Snow and Ashes (Outlander, #6) by Diana Gabaldon An Echo in the Bone (Outlander, #7) by Diana Gabaldon

To be honest I am really surprised how taken I am with the book, and with Jamie.

Jamie's nice, isn't he? I read it years ago, but I remember liking him.

Jamie is definitely a swoon worthy man! Even if I didn't like the books, I'd go on just for him.

Chechoui | 9 comments I just finished reading the author's Lord John series as well as book 1 The Outlander. I will have to check out the show!

Besides her Outlander series I rally didn't know she had any other series.

Chechoui | 9 comments Lord John is set in the same world but a little later, 1760, in London. Check it out! I liked it much better than Outlander which was a little chauvinist for my tastes.

Really? That's interesting. People usually say Outlander is the opposite in comparison to other books. Unfortunately, it's been long enough since I've read it that I can't say definitively, but the stuff I do remember was pretty female-empowering. :)

Honestly reading it I can buy how they treat woman, that time period is chavinistic.
