What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

I read this book sometime in the last two years (2017-2018), and i remember quite a few random bits of things that happened in the book.

The cover had the blue silhouette of a boy sitting and looking up at golden stars, and i believe the book's title might have had the word light in it.

I think one of the boy's names started with a D?

Boy A, is an orphan living with his uncle. His uncle has been abusing him for years, and is using Boy A's trustfund (left by his deceased parents) to pay for his house, his car, etc. It's discovered at one point that the uncle abused Boy A by whipping him with a willow switch while recording it.

there's a point where Boy A goes with Boy B to Boy A's old house, and there's a bamboo garden in the backyard.

SPOILERS AHEAD:
Boy B (who i remember very little about) goes to check on Boy A after he hasn't seen or heard from him in a while, he finds that Boy A was locked in a trunk and nearly starved by the uncle.
