Whats up???
I'm currently reading Where the Crawdads Sing and re-reading A Wrinkle in Time with my son. I'm looking forward to The Grapes of Wrath, I'm a little embarrassed to say I have never read it!How is The Brothers Karamozov? Seems intimidating!
not embarrassed Julie! I can change it. your opinion is really important.
I think about it sooner and choose another book.
I just read little of The Brothers Karamazov. but it seems good

what are you reading? I'm finishing Doctor Sleep by Stephen King. do you want to continue to make picks? I'm for it if you are. If so, it's Zeinab's turn to pick.
Hi Julie, I'm getting out of a reading slump at the moment, but I managed to finish The Summer Book by Tove Jansson in one day, hooray! I've heard Doctor Sleep is good, have you seen the movie? Yes, I'm up for continuing to pick books. Zeinab, do you want to continue as well? I'm sure your choice will be great.
Hi.What's Your opinion about "Haruki Murakami"?
I bought Kafka on the Shore by him and I think about reading it together.
.
what do you think my dear book friend ??
:)
I missed these messages somehow. Did you all already read Kafka on the Shore? if not I'll get it and catch up. I'm definitely in for continuing the group!
@Julie: Oh no, I haven't started it yet. Zeinab and I were just waiting for you. I figured you were busy. No rush :)@Madeline: Hi Madeline! Welcome to our group! I'm afraid I don't know how to do electronic annotations, but I'd be open to it, if Julie and Zeinab are.
Great, I've got a copy on hold! @Madeline - are you in group KK? I know that was confusing for me too, there are so many groups.
Hi MedelineWelcome to our book group
we will read the Kafka on the shore then talk about it.
I'll start it tomorrow! :)
enjoy reading
Madeline or Dominique, would either of you like to pick our next book? You all have introduced me to some great authors!!
I was just looking at my To Read list in my library, and all the books I would pick to read are part of a series, and I know we've been reading stand alone books. So I don't think I can suggest anything. Jeffrey Eugenides sounds like a good choice to me.
I'm ok with reading part of a series too, if you want to pick something from your TBR list for next time Dominique.Zeinab, can you get The Virgin Suicides in Iran?
Hope you are staying healthy Julie and Zeinab. Do you want to read Pillars of the Earth? I know it's long. If you have other suggestions I'd be happy to hear them.
Hi Julie and DominiqueI hope you staying healthy.
How are you?
what's up?
what are you reading these days?
I miss last year we read books together in this group. :(
Hi Zeinab, I'm doing well, still have to stay inside, but I've been reading books, so I'm happy! How are you? I would like to continue too! I'm reading off and on, and these days I like short novels. Hope you and Julie are keeping healthy.
Hi ladies! I just finished Station Eleven. It was really good but about a plague, so it kind of depressed me a bit. I'm looking for something light and fun now, if you have any suggestions.
I'm still quarantined too, but healthy!
I'd love to read something together again. It's so nice to hear from you both.
So nice to hear from you too Julie! Yes, I read Station Eleven around the beginning of the pandemic, and struggled through it because it was so relevant :( Light and fun... is Me Talk Pretty One Day a funny book? Or is it more clever witty? I've never read it. Feel free to add other suggestions. I can't think of very many light summer books, but maybe something by Mindy Kaling? What do you think?
Anything on this list?https://www.goodreads.com/choiceaward...
I hate that we don't have access to all the same books :-(
I look at this list.but for my suggestion, did you read Funny in Farsi: A Memoir of Growing Up Iranian in America by Iranian American author Firoozeh Dumas.
I'm not sure this is humour but it is funny I think

What are you reading now?
I am reading "The brothers Karamazov"
When I finish it, I'll start my choice:"The grapes of wroth" and we will descussion about it.
.
Whats your plan?
Lets talk about it.
.
Thanks
Zeinab :)
