Team Coraline
Ice-breaker: come up with a team name!
Choose the name of a protagonist from a middle grade book to be your team name (example: Harry Potter).

can I suggest ''Lyra Belacqua'' from His Dark Materials ? Or ''Nobody Owens'' from The Graveyard Book ... or ''Coraline'' from Coraline ? I couldn't help but love Neil Gaiman. ♡♡♡
Super Excited! I think Coraline would be a good team name. I’ve never read the book, but it’s on my TBR and I’ve seen the movie. I also suggest Wendy Moira Angela Darling from Peter Pan. I’ve always loved that name. What do you guys think? Any other suggestions?
Are you guys starting to look through the spreadsheet? I'm trying to make a TBR bookshelf with books I already own or know are at the library that fit some of the prompts. No Capes is really hard, I guess I don't read a lot of MG superhero stuff!
I’ve been looking at the spread sheet, but I’m not really sure what I’m gonna read yet. And if you guys have a specific task you think you’re gonna complete, you should probably let everyone know before hand, that way we don’t have multiple people trying to complete the same task.
I'd like to read Scar Island for Prompt: A book that is set primarily on an island, and Caterpillar Summer for Prompt: A Book with Clouds on the cover. I'll be on vacation for the first week of August, and may not have wi-fi the whole time, but I'd be able to read those books during that time (and then check back in with you guys).
Ugh, sorry, strike Caterpillar Summer. I can't find it on arbookfind.com. I can replace it with The Bad Kid, which is on the website as MG.

I found Caterpillar Summer on the site so it’s fine to read if you still want to!
Also I’m totally not creeping on your team’s chat I was just bored so I thought I’d see what you guys are talking about because you’re all talking the most😂

Oh that's awesome, I'll stick with Caterpillar Summer then! Thank you for your help!
And no worries! :)
Hey guys, would it be okay if i read the following books?1.HatchetA book where the protagonist gets lost
2.See You in the CosmosA book with a cover that is more than 50% blue
3.SummerlostA book with a protagonist who has an absentee dad
4.The Truth as Told by Mason ButtleA book with a cover that is more than 50% brown
5.Things That Surprise YouA book with a character who falls out with a friend/best friend
6.SweetlyA book based on or similar to the Hansel and Gretel fairytale
7.The London Eye MysteryA book with a protagonist who is a sleuth/detective
This is my current TBR and i will be adding more books later.
Hey guys,
Just wanted to let you know that if you wanted to make your spreadsheet private so that the other teams can't see it, then that's cool. One of the other teams have already requested it. All you need to do is fill in your emails in the share section (or give me your email and I can do it for you) and I'll remove the link from the top of this page so only you guys and I can access it.
Totally up to you if you want to do this or not! Also, feel free to customise the spreadsheet however you like! Just please don't change the points coding😂

Wendi wrote: "Do you guys mind if I also read City of Ghosts for the Goodreads Choice Awards nominee category?"Great selection. I wasn't aware of the fact that it is a middle grade book.:)

I don't know how i feel about hiding our spreadsheet... It seems rather silly. I don't mind someone going through it. The whole point of this challenge is reading different books and acknowledging it !!! So what if someone read the same book for the same challenge? Doesn't matter. we are all here to read after all.
But it is just me. if my captain and team mates want to do it, i will do the same.:):)
I totally get you Chapter Chat😂 I was really thinking the same thing which is why I won’t be making my team’s spreadsheet private but the other team wanted it that way so I didn’t mind complying with them. I’m really here for the challenging myself to read more aspect than to win the challenge but that’s just me! Right, well if you guys decide you do want the spreadsheet to be private just have Grace message on the Captains Chat!👍🏻

Yup. :) I think it's the first MG title for Victoria Schwab.

Just my opinion though!
Sorry everyone, was on vacation. I am ready to go! Don't know what I will be reading but will figure it our before it starts! :)
Ok, so I have figured out what I am reading for the start! I own both of them, so I can immediately start the morning the challenge starts! If you have any worries about me intruding on your category/challenge that you wanted, please let me know and I could always switch it up. My first two reads:
Land of Stories by Chris Colfer
A book with a protagonist who leaves home for more than 70 pages
Wonder by R.J. Pallacio
A book with a character who wins a prize/award/medal
And I think I have the baking scene covered...so don't pick one for that yet. :D
I 'm also gonna read:The Zodiac Legacy: Convergence by Stan Lee, Stuart Moore, and Andie Tong
A book with a protagonist who has superpowers/ special abilities
Ooohh, another idea just popped up in my brain! I will read:Lodestar by Shannon Messenger
A book with a character who wears a cape for 1 scene or more
You guys mentioned that the cape one was hard, well elves in this series wear capes all the time, it's a status sign of nobility. And then I guess I can read the sequel to that, book 6 (keep in mind that I have read all previous books already):
Nightfall by Shannon Messenger
A book that is a sequel
And then maybe I can fit the last book into a category once all tasks have been revealed!

Hi Team Coraline!
I just want to let you know that I've added a new member to your team: Insh!
Look after her she's my girl😂 I've added her shelf to the top of the page and that evens out every team which now has 5 members each.
That's all for now! Rest of the tasks will be updated onto your spreadsheet on August 1st and the scores spreadsheet will be available for everyone then too!

Hey guys , can i read
for the category A book that has been on the top 10 of the New York Times bestseller list (either paperback or hardback) for a minimum of 5 weeks?
Dark AgeGuys im planning to read this book for the task
A book with clouds on the cover, is this okay ?
It also works for
book with a protagonist who has superpowers/ special abilities
And a book that is a sequel
But i think others have already got books for that task , yes ?!
Yes, I have already stated that I have got the superpowers/abilities one, so the clouds on cover one looks amazing!
I think Wendi already have a book for the prompt A book with clouds on the cover It's mentioned in the earlier message.
Hey, sorry I haven’t been very active on here! I’m currently on vacation, so I probably won’t get anything read until I get home on Saturday. I’ll make sure to keep up with what everyone else has read and fill out the spreadsheets though!
Oops, right she is! ALL THESE TASKS! That's fine, Grace! So only you can edit the sheets? Seems like a lot of work to just tell you what to write when we can ourselves...but I'm fine with that if it's in the rules.
SO EXCITED! :D
