Not a promotion as such, but some sad news about Lyme Park in Cheshire, which was used for the exterior shots at Pemberley in 1995:BBC News - National Trust's Lyme Park suffers 'major damage' in floods

Cherith Boardman shared this FB post from Sean O'Reilly (not someone I know)Hello Jane Austen lovers! I wanted to share a project with you. It's an upcoming movie titled The Janeites, which is after crowdfunding to enter production. Please have a look here - https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/th... Send me an email at info@seanoreillyfilm.com or direct message me, if you'd like more information! You can also follow our page by searching The Janeites Film
Synopsis of the Kipling story they want to film:
As they wait for a whistle to signal their charge into no-man’s land, a group of nervous soldiers find they all share something which helps them through the nightmarish experience: a love of Jane Austen.

I have read 5 books on the list and have several more on my TBR list.
I found another P&P list on that site: https://www.listchallenges.com/pride-...I have read 94 of the 1360 books on the second list.

I read it without subscribing, Marlene. But it may be that you have to if you're from outside the UK, as it's a UK newspaper article.

I've visited, but it was many years ago in the 80s, so it pre-dates P&P 1995 by a good few years, so the significance of what we saw didn't register very much. Back then, it was just another lovely National Trust owned stately home.

I can't claim anywhere near Rose's total, but my total was exactly 250 read. Haven't checked how many are in my TBR list, but probably quite a number. It'd have been more if all of say, Cat Gardiner's books, had been listed. I think there were some other authors whose entire canon was missing, too.

Aug 29 is the end of the KU offering for Leenie Brown's 'A Dash of Darcy and Companions Cottage Collection 1.'Her next KU offering will be from her Willow Hall Romance series and she is in the process of changing and updating all the covers as she prepares that series for Kindle Unlimited. While in KU, Amazon requires that they are pulled from all other venders. Just saying.

$1.19 from Wendy Soliman box-set Vol 1-5: Mrs Darcy Entertains Vols 1-5: Pride and Prejudice Variations
Wendy Soliman has a series of books on the second generation of our P&P characters. Most of the books are $0.99. I just thought I'd toss this out. Not many are interested in Kitty's child or the Bingleys.
I spotted a price drop (UK). Not sure whether it's dropped elsewhere.Jane Austen: A Life by Claire Tomalin down from £4.99 to £1.99. It has good reviews on the UK site.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0089NW1YS
Not yet, Ceri. It could drop later. We'll keep an eye out for it. 65 Reviews: 63% 5-stars & 22% 4-stars
Tomalin's was the standard biography for many years and is still worth a read, even though new information has led to newer ones.
Pride & Prosperity is currently free. However, be aware that apparently it's NOT a P&P variation, though it's "Austen-inspired." No, I haven't read it myself (yet?), but that's what I guess based on book blurb and Amazon reviewer who was disappointed when she didn't find D&E, Longbourn, Netherfield, etc. I got it anyway because--hey! It's free!
Yep... me too. Guess we'll find out. Wonder why that person was disappointed? It is plainly marked that it is NOT P&P but Austen inspired. Oh well. We sometimes fail to read the fine print. I know I do.
