Co-Sign! You're actually committing treason by voting. The constitution is based on this country being a republic...democracy is a contradiction.

Republics...the government protects the citizens god-given (their def. not mine) rights, including the right to travel.

Democratic governments create laws to give you rights, permissions, and privileges that are ours to begin with.

So technically, I'm a republican but I would vote for Barack Obama, if I voted. I think he has a lot to offer. I would vote for Ron Paul, but that'd never happen. He'd actually change things tooo much for the better, LOL. Barack, I think he's moving in the right direction and what is it they say?

A population will accept little change and consider you a progressive leader, but make too many changes and the population will call you a radical.

I lost mad respect for Hilary after watching Sicko.

Amanda (randymandy) Ok I don't disagree with you two. But from a realistic point of view, NOT voting seems like a big mistake. President Schmesident. It's either gonna be the red team or the blue team heading up the oval office, and nothing there will change too drastically anyway. However... local elections are also on November's ballots--as well as the primaries. Local politics does play a big role in our day to day lives regardless of whether voting is treason or not.

Kristjan (booktroll) I typically write in my favorite candidate when I don't like the choices. If you run out of names, try something with a theme ... like WB Looney Tunes? Bugs is pretty smart ... I bet he'd make a great Prez.

Amanda (randymandy) So don't vote for president. You CAN leave it blank, you know... I still think local elections are the real deal. A couple thousand, or even a couple hundred votes DOES matter at city and county level..

message 5: by Molly (new)

Molly (mollyhell) I will vote, because like Amanda said, local elections do matter.

Presidential elections, I live in a Jesusland state. My vote, unless Republican, does not matter one bit. Our primary picked MITT ROMNEY. Nuff said.

I really have nothing to say one way or the other about this. And I still agree with the group on the Presidential vote "not counting" but this speech has gotten the country all riled up!

I like the buzz. It's fun!!!

Bliss (blissreads) | 9 comments Historically, I have not voted (though I was always registered).

This year, I did.
