Suzanne | 5428 comments Hi there! Since I filled out the form, I got the "invitation to edit" for the above spreadsheet. Can you let me know if you have the power to edit the team spreadsheet that is linked above? If not, PM me your email address and I'll get you on the edit list
OR
I can link an editable version here and Laila can put it in the top message. If we do that, others can also edit (anyone with the link), which personally doesn't worry me but ???

Just let me know :)

message 13: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 229 comments My next book I am starting has author with more than 7 books. Do we have to wait until August 12 to read or is it finish date of book ?

message 14: by Laila Jane (new)

Laila Jane (axlilxlala) | 1238 comments This challenge is going to require a lot of coordination...

According to the Q&A thread, books have to be started after the challenge starts on August 12.

We also can't start reading books for the Safezone Stage until all tasks are read for in the Countdown Stage. And then once we're in the Safezone we're only able to work on one group at a time

I'm able to edit the spreadsheet

message 16: by Trinia (new)

Trinia | 2503 comments I’ll look through the spreadsheet tonight and make a list of books for me to read. I love these challenges!😊

message 17: by Stacey (new)

Stacey (boydsmom) | 1381 comments Oops, didn't have my notifications turned on and missed all the fun yesterday. I can edit the spreadsheet. I'll take a look after work and see what I have that fits the 10 tasks first, correct?

message 18: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 5428 comments I'm glad the spreadsheet is open and ready! Good luck everyone!

message 19: by Laila Jane (new)

Laila Jane (axlilxlala) | 1238 comments I can read these 2 books...

Ella by Jessilyn Stewart Peaslee - published Nov 10

and

Fire in You (Wait for You, #6) by J. Lynn - #6 in series

message 20: by Stacey (new)

Stacey (boydsmom) | 1381 comments I'll plan to read Burn for Me (Hidden Legacy, #1) by Ilona Andrews for the trilogy task. I have possibilities for most of the others depending on what Trinia and Jennifer want to read -- except for published in the 1950s.

message 21: by Trinia (new)

Trinia | 2503 comments I have 2 books on my list to read, One of them fits~ written by an author who has published at least seven books (as listed on Goodreads)
Others I can find a book for are:
~that has two authors (as credited on Goodreads)
~where the audio version has at least four narrators

I think : that was first published in the 1950s --- will be a tough one. I'll see if I can find a book for that task as a backup.

I can be flexible and find a book to fit any tasks. So Jennifer, if you already have a book in mind for any of these tasks, I can switch.

message 22: by Trinia (new)

Trinia | 2503 comments I found a book published in 1950’s
The End of the Affair

(If needed )

message 23: by Laila Jane (new)

Laila Jane (axlilxlala) | 1238 comments Ok we'll see what Jennifer has and then I'll assign the rest of the tasks. I'm flexible too and can change my books to cover other tasks as needed. I'm sure either one of my books can cover the 9 characters task. And if needed I can read one of the Ilona Andrews books for carnivorous animal on cover.

Great find Trinia on the 1950's book!

Since we only have 2 weeks per round, we should probably try to finish the countdown stage in the 1st week so that we can work on the safezone stage in the 2nd.

My max is usually 3 books/week, 4 if I'm really into a book and can't put it down.

I checked. Original publication date is Feb 1st =(

message 29: by Stacey (new)

Stacey (boydsmom) | 1381 comments I can do 2 or 3 books a week, so I can take another 1 or 2 from anyone who has too many for this first week. I have books picked/available for each task, so just let me know.

message 30: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 229 comments OK I will do the debut novel then

message 31: by Trinia (new)

Trinia | 2503 comments I can definitely do task 5 and 2, so Stacey you’re welcome to any of those others with my name listed 😉

Looks good Laila. I'll see what I get read in the next week and then pick up another book or two.

Trinia | 2503 comments Thanks Laila!

message 37: by Laila Jane (new)

Laila Jane (axlilxlala) | 1238 comments Hey girls! I took a look at the Questions thread and found some clarifying answers.

This challenge starts on Mon, Aug 12, 7am Eastern time

And regarding the Safezone:

You start the countdown stage. You must complete 10-1 before starting any books for the safezone stage. After all, you are in Lava.
You jump out of the lava and hit the safezone. So now you can start books for any of the safe zone groups ; but you can't complete them concurrently. So you can start a book for safezone group 1 and 2 at the same time, but provided your team complete safezone group 1 before you complete your book for safezone group 2. That is perfectly fine to then use that book for group 2.

message 38: by Trinia (new)

Trinia | 2503 comments Sounds good, I’m eager to start!!!

message 39: by Stacey (new)

Stacey (boydsmom) | 1381 comments We are skipping Group 1 in the safe zone, correct?

message 40: by Laila Jane (new)

Laila Jane (axlilxlala) | 1238 comments Yup!

I don’t know if you guys have seen it, but I posted on our private thread if you wanted to start strategizing and looking for books for the safe zone

message 41: by Stacey (last edited Aug 11, 2019 06:20PM) (new)

Stacey (boydsmom) | 1381 comments Everyone ready? Feels like this has been in planning stages for a while....

I've got Paper and Fire (The Great Library, #2) by Rachel Caine ready to go for the trilogy task.

For other challenges this I'll be reading these 2 books - if we need them.
Wild Embrace (Psy-Changeling #2.5, 5.5, 11.5, 12.25) by Nalini Singh which should work for the author with more than 7 published works (Nalini Singh) and possibly more than 9 characters (but its an anthology, so not sure if that's cheating?)
The Tycoon's Revenge (Baby for the Billionaire, #1) by Melody Anne -- I think will work for 9 characters... but I'll keep count to see.

message 42: by Trinia (new)

Trinia | 2503 comments I think I’ll start with The End of the Affair for the 1950’s task. Should get through it pretty quick !

message 43: by Laila Jane (new)

Laila Jane (axlilxlala) | 1238 comments I’m going to start with The Art of Racing in the Rain for carnivorous animal. It’s 6 hrs on audio so I’ll knock this one out quick

message 44: by Trinia (new)

Trinia | 2503 comments Curious what you think of it Laila! I read(listened to) both the adult and kid versions, Not what I expected. I liked them both , thought provoking for sure 😌

message 45: by Jennifer (last edited Aug 12, 2019 01:46PM) (new)

Jennifer | 229 comments I should finish my book tonight or tomorrow had the dsy off

message 46: by Trinia (new)

Trinia | 2503 comments Finished my book. I'll update the spreadsheet. Do I need to post anything anywhere else?

message 47: by Trinia (new)

Trinia | 2503 comments I'm starting The Two Lila Bennetts for my next task of that has two authors (as credited on Goodreads)

message 48: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 229 comments My book is in the spreadsheet and I can read Delirium next has at least 7 published books and can have read in the next 3 days. After that I probably will only be able to do one a week. I have to go back to work tomorrow.

message 49: by Trinia (new)

Trinia | 2503 comments I should finish The Two Lila's in a day. For my next one, my clean sweep book has 5 Narrators, so I put it on the spreadsheet for the task , "where the audio version has at least four narrators". May take me a bit to get through. So I'll see if anything is left after that one.

message 50: by Laila Jane (new)

Laila Jane (axlilxlala) | 1238 comments I just finished The Art of Racing in the Rain and will get started on Ella for published on the 10th.

The Art of Racing in the Rain was hard for me to get into at first. I didn't read the blurb so I had no idea what the story was about. So the first hour (on audible) or so just seemed like a lot of random rambling. But once we got to the part where (view spoiler) I couldn't wait to find out what happened next. I ended up rating it 4 stars because of the slow beginning.
