What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

it is about a bard that can play a harp I believe and is able to do magic through its music,it also has a character in it tosti finrir who has a wolfskin that allows him to turn into a wolf.These too fight with swords throughout the book,as well as the Bard being a ladies man,there are also some references to druids pouring human blood on trees.I read this book back in the 80,s or early 90,s and would love to have another copy of it.It was in paperback and the cover was purple in color if I remember correctly and the bard had long red hair and his sword was narrow and pointed unlike all the other swords described.I hope someone can help me.thank you in advance for any and all help,Chris
