Normally I don't like remakes or reboots but I love Blade so much that I'm willing to go with this. Mahershala Ali has been cast as Blade in the upcoming reboot. No word yet on who will direct or when it will come out but there is a Blade reboot set for the near future.

A lot of Blade fans seem skeptical about this. Wesley Snipes However is telling them to "CHILLAX!". Although Snipes had wanted to return for a Blade 4 and 5, Snipes is now telling fans he's okay with the decision and trying to convince them to respect Marvel's decision and that he is overwhelmed with "the incredible outpouring of love and support".

I don't know much about Mahershala Ali, but it's so hard to imagine someone else filling those big shoes. What was cool about Wesley Snipes was not only was his personality and acting perfect for that character, but he knew all those martial arts.

And let's not forget how that Blade TV series ended up with Kirk "Sticky Fingaz" Jones as the daywalker (don't get me wrong, although it failed I liked that tv show and Sticky's performance).

What I'm really hoping for as a fan is a return to the original comic book material. Somewhat. The first three films tried to explain vampirism with science and steered clear of the supernatural while at the same time taking a not so known character and making him into more of a badass. So good that they incorporated the look, weapons, etc of the daywalker into the comic books after the movie.

Back to my point, what I would like to see is some of the supernatural terror of the original Tomb of Dracula series mixed with some of the awesome looks and modern ideas featured in the original three Blade films. Have him fight Dracula ( COUNT DRACULA not that
"Drake" character from Blade:Trinity). Make the vampires be hurt by holy water and crosses, have Blade use wooden stakes as well as garlic and silver bullets.

I just love the character and the material ( both film and comic book) so much that all I can do is keep my fingers crossed.

Latasha (latasha513) i just got a e-mail about this yesterday! i have no clue about the Blade comics at all. the only Blade i know is from the movies. i never get excited over reboots cause they usually fail. but we'll see. i didn't watch the show.

The comics go back to the seventies and beyond. I myself dislike reboots as well, however, I am remaining optimistic about this one.
