This thread is for the participants' lists of the Meet & Greet Challenge! It will be closed until picking is open.

All discussion, chat, questions, and answers for this challenge are to occur in this thread: MnG Round 6

DATES TO REMEMBER:
21 Sep 5PM US EST - SIGN-UPS close date! Please allow at least 3 hours for the groups to be posted. Sorry, no latecomers due to the massiveness of the picking!
28 Sep - PICKING due date! Picks for all group members must be completed.
1 Oct - OPENING date - Start reading!

RULES/TIPS:
* You must not recommend new books.
* You ONLY select from the pickee's nominated shelf.
* You must nominate 3 books for each set of picks.
* Book nominations and selections do not need to be in any order.
* You can add/subtract books at any time during the sign-up and picking process. (If a book has already been recommended during the picks, this recommendation stands valid.)
* If you recommend a book from a series, please ensure that it is the next book for the reader in that series.
* You may put re-reads on your nominated picking shelf if desired. (This means the book may already be 'read' and rated - but if it is on that shelf, these books are fair game for the pickers.)
* You must have completed the picking for your group members by the picking due date.
* You may use books planned for other challenges in this challenge and vice-versa unless otherwise specified in the alternate challenge(s).
* There is NO minimum page number requirement in this challenge.
* Books may be from any romance sub-genre, but we are a romance group so please keep your books on your nominated shelf to the romance or popular fiction genres.
* Remember - if your profile is private, you will need to 'friend' the other group members as they will not be able to access your nominated picking shelf otherwise.
* Feel free to 'friend' all the members of the group, as this will make picking much easier and faster :)
* A member can ask for repicks from another member if they have already selected all three of the nominated books. For this reason, it is important that members move books off their nominated picking shelf as soon as they have made their selection.
* If a book from a series is recommended but it is not the next book for the reader in that series, please feel free to substitute the appropriate book for that recommendation.
* When providing feedback in the Discussion Thread, please ensure that key plot points are hidden behind the spoiler 'tag' - <'spoiler>blah plot point blah<'/spoiler> (ignoring the apostrophes which have been inserted to show the formula :)


Our members read a variety of romance sub-genres. You do not need to have read the book that you recommend, nor do you have to have knowledge of the sub-genre that may predominate any of the shelves. How you select books from the nominated shelves is entirely up to you.

Magic Breaks - Joyce/Jane(PS)/Donna - I liked but didn't love this installment in the KD series - I gave it 4 stars simply because it was Kate/Current - over the last few books that Roland storyline has been building, but ultimately, I felt let down - it seemed to be more the hugh show, than the roland show...but i'll be intrigued to see what happens next

The Wicked Deeds of Daniel Mackenzie - Donna/Shelby - after being lukewarm about the last 2 in the series, I was worried whether JA could pull off Daniel's story - i've been waiting for his since he was introduced around bk 2 in the series...while i didn't love it, it was a vast improvement on the previous books, but i think the series needs to be finished up

Out of Bight, Out of Mind - Jane(PS) - damn Tymber Dalton - i was so hoping after Spider Bight that the crew of tamora bight was going to get a break, but i should have known that wouldn't be the case. I did kind of figure out the mystery before it occurred, but i liked how most of the book focused on the after-effects. Will be interested to see where she goes next (since she told me 4 more books in the series hopefully).

Azagoth - Shelby - after the last couple of Horseman books that were a disappointment, I really enjoyed Azagoth - it reminded me of her earlier Demonica books - and the shorter length (about 200pgs) was just right. although she does have a new book out in December ni the series, so we shall see.

Bones Are Forever - Joyce - while this book in the series felt much more like earlier ones - I think i'm about burnt out on Tempe - I love when she talks science-y - but the Ryan angst and her ability to do frequent dumb-shit is just starting to irk me

Blood Games - Joyce - this reminded me much more of the earlier books in the series - more mystery/suspense than angsty romance - but it was nice seeing Merit/Ethan settled into a relationship (of sorts). Will be interesting to see where the series goes now - since there was a pretty big game-changer at the end of this book

Hope Flames - Amie/Susan A - i've come to the conclusion that Jaci Burton is just an author who doesn't work for me - ideally her stuff should be right up my alley, but it just never actually works - but glad i got this book off the TBR finally

Down for the Count - larissa -cute/hot romance about a woman who finds her new husbanding cheating on wedding day with her bridesmaid and runs away with her best friend's brother - hawt in places, and kind of glad they just didn't jump into bed together at the very beginning - plus i loved how she had never really gotten drunk before - 3.5 stars

Dungeon Games - Larissa/Lily - i didn't realize that this was a book 6.5 in a series - so i was lost about a lot of the interactions between the characters - but i was intrigued enough that i want to go back and read the previous books (dammit, adds them to the pile) - 3 stars

Dreams of Perfection - Cariann/Katie - i'm a sucker for friends2lovers romances and this hit every button - the two main characters had been friends for close to a decade - and even though you could tell they loved each other, neither made a move. plus, she had an awesome cast of secondary characters - so i can't wait to read more by her - 3.5 stars (rounding up to 4)

Crazy Little Thing - Lizz Neill - I can't believe i've waited so long to read this book - its been loitering on Mt TBR and now i'm kicking myself - quirky one-liners, douche-baggey ex-husbands, hot doctors - it was the makings of a hysterially funny romance - i read it in like one sitting - adding the next book to the pile - 4 stars

The Trouble with Cowboys - Larissa/~melissa~ - first time reading Melissa Cutler, but it won't be the last (in fact, i've already added the 2nd book in the series to my TBR pile - solid romance, thankfully, no traditional tropes (big mistake etc) - but jackass family members - will be interesting to see where the series goes - 3.5 stars

Aarati: I finished Catching Heat today and I thought it was really cute. This is my second read by Allison Packard, and I've come to equate her with light romantic reads that make me smile. I've gone a bit out of sequence with this series, so I think I'll get to The Winning Season very shortly. I definitely want to read all the books associated with this series. *4 STARS*

Tina: I finished That Boy yesterday and it was really cute. I loved how "that boy" ended up always being there for her and it was such the right choice to have them end up together. I don't think he was necessarily the obvious choice but he definitely was the right one. I don't want to give anything away by naming names, so I will just that "that boy" was as well received with me as the entire book was.

It's sometimes hard for me to read YA because it's usually so full of angst it bogs me down, but this one was really sweet and fun although there were definitely some gut wrenching moments. The beauty of the relationship development made all my ugly tears worth it though. :) I will definitely be continuing on with this series. *4.5 STARS*

Preethi: I finished Shadow today and I really enjoyed it. It was such a good addition to the series. I was excited to have two of the New Species get together this time. I'm looking forward to going farther with this series. *4 STARS*

Roger: I finished The Queen's Consorts today and it was AMAZING! I love the way Kele Moon writes. And few can write M/M/F menage the way she does (which face it, if there's going to be two M's and an F, shouldn't it be M/M/F?). *sigh* I have no idea why I wanted so long to read this, but thanks for giving me the push to get it done. I was so not disappointed. *5 STARS*

MountainKat: Loved, loved, LOVED, Fall from India Place. I cried like a baby, railed at the unfairness of it all, but absolutely loved every last minute of it. I just adore this series. I loved seeing Joss and Braden and the gang all grown up as well. It was so good to see them that far into the future.

Hannah and Marco...*sigh*
I was so devastated by all that went down between them, but man did they belong together. I was so happy to see that it worked out.

I can't wait to read Cole's book now. I've got so many others to read but I'm foaming at the mouth to get to it!!!

I have no idea how I sat on this book so long, but I'm glad to have been able to read it. I'm not sure how Samantha Young is going to top this one, but you know, I think I say that every time she comes out with an addition to the series. :)

Karla: I finished Breathe, and I really liked it. I thought it was just a tad far fetched but that's what made it so good. Perfect fantasy material. I can't wait to continue with the series. It would be nice to Jax and Sadie some more. I was just so sad for Marcus though. I felt he got the shaft in this one. *4 STARS*

Dana: I finished Waking Kiss and I thoroughly enjoyed it. this was intense and emotional, and I was so surprised that it was really heavy on the story and light on the sex. Regardless of that, I was still moved and engrossed in the story. I'll continue with this series for sure. Thanks for the push to read it. *4.5 STARS*

Zara: I finished your pick, All They Need. I thought this was good but wasn't the best one I've read by this author. The heroine went through some really crappy stuff at the hands of her husband. And the hero was going through some things too, but they seemed to be a balm for each other to help them heal.

I felt like the middle part dragged for me a bit, but the ending was great. I would have liked them to have been moved along a bit more by the epilogue but I can extrapolate the HEA.

Ezinwanyi: I finished your pick, Rome. Oh so hot. Loved this one. I was a little pissed off at Cora but I love how these guys go "all in" when they find their girls. They may be a little clueless when it comes to real relationships but they are freakin' fantastic when they find the right one.

I had no idea that Rome was going to be so incredibly hot. We really hadn't gotten too much of a sense of him in previous books. He seemed more like a big killjoy more than anything, but I loved seeing things from his perspective.

I am so continuing with this series. It is a must. there's no way that I would be able to stop myself from continuing even if I tried. *4.5 STARS*

KarenH: I finished Rock Addiction, and I really enjoyed it. I thought it was a great first story in a series. I am really forward to finishing the series. I enjoyed spending time with the men of Schoolboy Choir.

Anita: I so enjoyed Insatiable. I have to admit that Rachel pissed me off with her immaturity, but Shawn was such a great hero. He made up for all of her crap. I loved friends to lovers stories, and this one was done really well.

Tabs: Devil's Game was fantastic! I loved all the byplay and intrigue between the two gangs. And I KNEW that Liam was a good guy. Their story was kind of like a Romeo and Juliet type theme, and I was glad for the way it worked out. there is no way that I can't continue this series. I've got the next one all ready to go on my kindle!

Kathy: I finished Worth the Fight and THIS WAS HAWT! Nico and Elle steamed up my kindle. But, what I really loved was Nico's willingness to be in it all the way with Elle, and really right from the start. I know they both had their issues, but I loved the way they helped each other work it out. This was SUCH a great story. I can't wait to continue the series!

beppy: I finished your pick Seven Nights of Sin and it was classic Lacey Alexander. Lots of hot sex, lots of debauchery, and I have to tell you, she didn't disappoint. She's always a go to when I need to increase the hotness factor.

beppy: I finished one of your bonus picks, Liberating Lacey, and I must say...YOWZA this was HOT! So verra, verra, HOT! LOVED Hunter. *sigh* Definitely my kind of Alpha. Lacey pissed my off quite a few times in this book because of what she "assumed" about Hunter, and I'm so glad that he was able to blow her mind and misconceptions time and again. I truly enjoyed this story and devoured it in one sitting. I definitely think it will be one I reach for again when I'm in a certain kind of "mood". ;) Fair warning though: it may not be a good idea to do what I did which was read this when my DH was across the country and I had no access to him. LOL *5 STARS*

beppy: I finished your second Bonus pick, Offside. This was a really cute story and great beginning of series. I loved the byplay between Billie Jo and Logan. And they were so incredibly hot together.

I don't know why Billie Jo didn't disclose her secret much sooner, but I guess if she did, their wouldn't have been the big conflict at the end.

I'm definitely going to continue this series at some point. Thanks for the pick!

Karla: I finished both of your bonus picks

Siren Reborn: This was Kitten's swan song. So beautifully written, I really helped ease the heartache from the glimpses we got of her trauma in the past. She was so much stronger than I ever gave her credit for and this book really highlighted that.

The story between Cole and Mason was very good as well. I knew who the killer was, but I didn't get the whole story. That was quite a surprise. This book was focused a lot more not he story than the sex although there was some great stuff in there. The relationship and the growth was so much more important here and that was what the focus was, thankfully.

I'm a sucker for M/M/F menage, but I'm sometimes left feeling like there's someone left out of the mix. I didn't feel that here. I think that Mason and Cole were strong, Cole and Kitten, were strong, and Mason and Kitten were as well. But when the three of them were together it was almost like magic. It just fit.

And at the end, when Kitten talked to Julian right before she went to go toward the rest of her life (I don't want to give too much away), that just made me bawl like a baby! What she said was so poignant that it just brought me to tears. If anyone deserved their HEA, it was her.

I'm sad to think that this series is coming to an end. But, if it were to, I love that it was that way with Kitten and her men, as well as the others in the gang pretty well settled.

Full Throttle: I wasn't sure what I was going to feel about this story at first. Rhett was someone I instantly liked, but I was sure how I felt about Shawn. She grew on me, but I hated the way she made Rhett feel sometimes.

I could see the marriage plot thing unraveling from a mile away, but I was happy to see that it all turned out alright in the end.

I've enjoyed this series from the beginning and I'm looking forward to continuing it.

Karla, I finished reading One for the Money, and I have to say that I enjoyed it. I love Stephanie's quirky personality and the odd situations she gets herself into. This was an easy, fun read. Looking forward to reading more of the series. I hope her relationship with Joe continues in the next several books! This one gets a 3 *** rating from me.

Tabs, Midnight Bayou was interesting. It began in a bit of a sinister manner and I wasn't sure how I felt in the beginning. The plot was a bit darker than what I've grown accustomed to expecting from Nora Roberts, but it had some unique twists. I gave this one a 3 *** rating. It was definitely worth the read, but not one of my favorites by that author.

beppy, I really like the hero in Wicked Under the Covers, but didn't care much for the heroine. I'm not sure what it was about her that I didn't care for, but I couldn't really connect -- she seemed a bit stiff and uninterested perhaps. The overall story was still very good despite some historical inaccuracies. This was also a 3 *** rating for me. :)

Anita, apparently most readers either love or hate A Hunger Like No Other. I for one, really enjoyed it. Lachlain is not your typical "wine and roses" kind of guy. There are several scenes where ah, let's just say that his "advances" to the heroine are not exactly welcomed and leave her trembling with something other than desire. I think this was the biggest complaint that I've seen in other reviews. However in my opinion it was necessary to properly depict the hero's character, the trials that he had been submitted to prior to meeting the heroine, and ultimately his redemption. I gave this story a 4 **** rating and will definitely be finishing out the series. :)

Sassafrass, Divorced, Desperate and Delicious was actually a pleasant surprise. I had put off reading it for some time, assuming from the cover that it would be some droll chick-lit type (I'm not a fan of typical chick-lit). It turned out to be a fun, witty, happily-ever-after kind of story. The plot was believable and the characters were well-developed. There were some scenes that literally had me chuckling out loud. I would definitely read more by this author.

Roger, unfortunately Call of the Moon just didn't do it for me. LOL This was also my first time reading anything by Ronda Thompson. I am a big fan of the paranormal genre and have read so many wonderful stories that for me this one just seemed kind of blah. Although there were some unique aspects to the plot, the characters seemed rather dull and the entire story was pretty predictable. I am reassured by other reviews that this is not one of Ms. Thompson's better books, so I will give her another chance and read something else a bit later on. :)
