Please state which authors you recommend and if possible include what genre. Thank you!

Well, I am mainly a horror fantasy fan so I have to go with Stephen King, Neil Gaiman and Peter Straub as my main authors.

I have also enjoyed Andrew Van Wey, a fairly new author.

I haven't read enough books by other authors to say I enjoy them. We'll see :)

I have discovered Dystopia and Speculative Fiction through GR and can state those as favourite genres as well.

Speaking of which, while browsing the site I came across Neal Shusterman. His books sound like something I might enjoy, so I was wondering if anyone has read anything by him? If so, what did you think?

Kandice Stephen King is my all time favorite, although he doesn't write only horror anymore. I'd read his grocery list, so that's not a complaint!

Colleen McCullough is my other favorite. Her historical fiction is the best researched I've ever read, but I love everything she writes. Some "love" stuff, which I usually avoid, but not hers, and she has a procedural series that I love.

Michael Chrichton was amazing. His books were so diverse and yet, no matter the subject, it seemed he really, really knew what he was writing about. So sad we lost him.

Like you, I rush to buy anything new by Neil Gaiman.

Alan Moore is another writer that I've devoured everything of his. Even the stuff I don't liek the story of, I still love his style and the way he tells that story.

Phillipa Gregory and Margaret George write the most entertaining Historical fiction you will find. Bar McCullough's Masters of Rome series. ;)

Tamera Barrow | 8 comments I am a new fictional fantasy author who is looking for reviewers. I have completed the first book in the Dawn Hunter Series (Rise of a New Dawn) and should be ready to publish second book (Same Dawn, Different Day) some time in March. Continuing adventures for Dawn Hunter will be forthcoming thereafter. Ebooks and paperbacks are available on Amazon but would be willing to send PDF file free of charge to several reviewers. I will anxiously await response from someone who wants to take a magical adventure with Dawn Hunter. Thank you.

Thank you very much for your generosity, Tamera! Would it be ok for you to open a new topic with this information in the Authors Corner folder, linking to the book in question? There's a special place to link it when you create a topic. It would just be a lot easier to find in the future. Thank you again!

Of course! And it's not a problem at all :)

Click right here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/group...

And then click 'new topic'.

Type the name of the book in the box that says This topic is about and from now on this topic will appear in your GR book page, so anyone who accesses it will be able to see it, instead of being cooped up in this one ^_^

Wish you all the best with your new book!
