Discussion about Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil author John Berendt

Other than a book about Venice, looks like John Berendt mainly sticks with Savannah. Even thought I enjoyed this, I probably wouldn't seek out any other books by him; I suggested this book because of the popularity of the book, not because I was familiar with the author or had a desire to add his books to my reading repertoire.

I'm kind of in the same boat. I really enjoyed the book, but I'm not in a hurry to pick up another by this author.

It was like taking a week long family vacation. There were parts of it that were enjoyeable. Then there was the ho-drum boring, the slightly entertaining and then there was the part where you and your selected buddy just couldn't take it anymore and had to break out do something wild. Something needed to define this vacation.

While it's great to go on these types of vacations from time to time they also feel somewhat taxing. All the getting things in order and planning the meals and etc.

That was the feeling the book left me with. So maybe some where down the line I'll decide to take another family vacation to Savanah and visit John Berendt.
