Liz (liz_the_librarian) September is half over, and I'm sure some of you have already finished your science fiction choice. Did you like the book you chose? Or if you're still working on it, what do you think?

Science fiction is a broad genre. What is your favorite kind of science fiction? Future dystopia? Space odyssey? Alien invasion? Cyborg adventure? Or something else?

Ann (ann-fracturedfiction) | 516 comments I haven't started my science fiction choice (I'm still on a mystery kick), but I like pretty much any kind of science fiction, as long as the story is good. I've read Marion Zimmer Bradley's Darkover series, Isaac Asimov's Foundation books (as well as Nemesis), Alas Babylon, and many a Star Trek book. On my to be read mountain are Kim Stanley Robinson and more Lois McMaster Bujold. This month's book for book club is Fahrenheit 451, so I'll be rereading that as well.

My favorite science fiction author is Octavia E. Butler. I enjoy reading her books because she features people of color and women as her protagonists. Her stories are often intriguing and sometimes disturbing.
