Play Book Tag discussion

Jessie Sloan is a young woman with her entire life ahead of her and she is finally ready to begin. Her beloved mother has just passed away after a long battle with cancer. Jessie had spent all of her time taking care of her mom throughout the entire illness. When Jessie decides to enter college she is shocked to learn that her social security number indicates that Jessie is deceased. As Jessie tries to piece together this mystery she is unable to find a birth certificate or any other identifying documents for her existence. Coupled with her debilitating insomnia, Jessie's search becomes overwhelmingly confusing.

Twenty years before, another young woman named Eden had been desperately trying to have a baby with her husband Aaron. Eden spent countless hours and many thousands of dollars on specialists to fulfill her dream. As her marriage began to falter Eden kept her focus solely on a child. One careless night had possibly given her what she dreamed of but it is possible that she had lost everything else to get it.

Frankly, even after finishing the book I am still not sure what it was all about and where the connections between Eden and Jessie were. Is she? Isn't she? I don't know.

Mary Kubica has always been middle of the road for me with 3-4 stars. I've only read two, and failed to pick up more because of this.
