I had my first good week in a while! I read 'Craving', 'Obsession', 'Possession', 'Melt', and 'Burn' by Helen Hardt in the Steel Brothers Saga. 'Obsession' actually was my book with an item of clothing or accessory on the cover! I also finished 'Clockwork Prince' by Cassandra Clare. I'm now only 9 books behind (I know that's still a lot but it's less than it was!) so hopefully I can maintain some of this reading with school starting next week, but we'll see!

Sonya (thelibrarianin3b) | 93 comments I only read one book this week. :/

I read Wilder Girls by Rory Power for the Barnes & Noble YA Book Club. It was a really interesting read that definitely evoked a lot of emotions, but I'm not sure how I feel about it.

My first word to describe the book would be "brutal" . The detailed depictions of the disease and the tough mentality of these girls who are just trying to survive definitely paints these girls in a different light then most books. This is not a pretty book, it's not even hopeful. This is a story of young girls and women just trying to do the best they can, be strong for themselves and each other, but do what needs to be done to accept their reality and just survive.

I can say that I liked the book, that it was different, but that I did feel that that it needed something more particularly in the conclusion; I didn't need a Happily Ever After but I did need some answers.

Overall, a pretty decent debut novel.

I don’t even wanna talk about the lack of reading I did this week 🙃
