What did you guys think of this book? Alaska sort of annoyed me with her moodiness and such, but then I began to like her character or at least sympathize in the latter half of the book. I didn't like the instalove with Miles how he instantly loved Alaska basically.I also disliked how Alaska was always "But I love my boyfriend" because I knew that was bs right from the start. It was annoying to me...
It was amazing.I read this quite a while ago, and I loved it obviously.
Alaska was not my favorite character, honestly I disliked her, but not enough to dislike the story. I loved Miles though.
Although I would never go by this boarding school, drinking and drugs or whatever. I thought that was just something that had to be a part of the story, even though it was clearly sad that sixteen year olds were doing such.
Anything of John Green has been my favorite, I love him and his writing. How does he make me laugh even if I'm sobbing my eyes out on a bad day? I have no clue, but that's why I love his books so much.
If you haven't read this book, then you need to add it to your TBR pile and read it when you can :)
Read this one a long time ago. This was probably my first book in this genre, and I loved it! I must have really loved it because this one got hooked me to YA. I read all of Green shortly afterwards before branching out to other authors. And yeah, I did find Alaska bit annoying, but not enough to dislike her.
I tried to read this book and couldn't continue after about a hundred pages or such (a little too draggy) and decided to just multi-plane read the whole book (meaning: start reading from random pages each time I pick up the book. Highly effective way to make me finish a book I didn't like.) And I didn't like it. I really didn't. Alaska was whiny, the insta love between Miles and Alaska, and the ending was seriously just first rate suicide glorifying. One thing I can never stand in books is suicide glorifying and JG sure did a good job of it in this book.
