Janice - I am applying this book because it was the only one available during the toppler that I could use for the Monthly challenge. My planned book is still on hold at the library. IF it becomes available and I can read it before the end of the month, I will switch it for the one I am reporting today.

WoF ElsbethI finished my book for
Pirates of the Caribbean (future): The Pirate's Tempting Stowaway
by Erica Ridley (14-8-2019). It has 'pirate' in the title.points:
4 pts - "Pirate" or "Pirates" is in the title.
3 pts - Has a ship with sails on it.
About the setting I'm not sure, since about half of the book takes place at sea and the other half in England (in London, is that seen as a 'coastal' city?)
5 pts - set at sea
4 pts - set in a coastal city (?)
2 pts - set in England
2 pts - 200 - 299 – 202 pages
Bonus points:
- Read-a-romance month. Points awarded if "Romance" is on the main book page as a genre.
- National Colouring Book Day (Aug 2). Points awarded if there are 5 or more different colours on the cover. (Note, various shades of one colour do not qualify as different colours.)
So I have at least 15 points. I leave it to the judges to decide on my points for setting...
Edit: 22 points
Elsbeth wrote: "I finished my book forPirates of the Caribbean (future): The Pirate's Tempting Stowaway

So -4 points = 11.

I hadn't counted any points for setting yet.
Thanks for your verdict, Janice. It's what I thought, but I just wanted to make sure.
Janice wrote: "Ahh! Sorry, Elspeth. I will adjust the tracker. So far, you've got the high score."Thanks!

I knew this book wouldn't give me many points, but I needed to read it this month and I was glad it works at all. :)

Hi Janice, I just counted up the score for my library book
. I can only better my original book score by 4 or 7 points (depending if there are any drinkers), but I cannot beat the top score, so there is no use changing. I am still going to listen to it.
Cherie wrote: "Hi Janice, I just counted up the score for my library book

Hi Janice, not sure if this is the right place to ask or not, but for the Title points, if your title is one word and has a colour in it, can you count as 6 points?
Anna wrote: "Hi Janice, not sure if this is the right place to ask or not, but for the Title points, if your title is one word and has a colour in it, can you count as 6 points?"Yes. You count all that apply.

Same question - how did you connect Dead Man's Chest with Equal Rites?
Janice wrote: Same question - how did you connect Dead Man's Chest with Equal Rites? My line of reasoning was that the author is a Dead Man. However, this is a pretty flimsy link, so I understand if you don't allow it. I thought you pre-approved it -- but totally fine if no.

I did pre-approve it, but you still need to explain the connection as part of the reporting requirements. Besides, you wouldn't want to rely on my memory. :)
Janice wrote: "...you still need to explain the connection as part of the reporting requirements."Oh, of course! I see what you mean. Sorry for the oversight :)
Janice wrote: "Esther - still waiting on your clarification. :)"sorry, I missed this. Well beside the obvious pirate connection (and being set partly in the Caribbean), there is a reference to the Fountain of Youth.
I was looking for my wall of fame, but I couldn't find it! Did it got deleted because I haven't been active for quite some time? My wof name was/is Elsbeth.
We never delete them, but we do have a part of the forum where we store the walls of members who've been inactive for a while. So don't worry, it's still there!
Elsbeth wrote: "I was looking for my wall of fame, but I couldn't find it! Did it got deleted because I haven't been active for quite some time? My wof name was/is Elsbeth."I found it and restored it to the active wall. I've also added "Elsbeth" as your Wall of Fame Name. :)
Did you finish your pirate book? I will be posting badges this weekend.
