Jack walked in with Dakota and sat down

"So, Captain Jack, what exactly does Torchwood do?" Dakota asked.

"Fight aliens." He said, taking a drink

"Aliens, huh?" Dakota said. "Why aliens?"

"Cuz that's what we do," he shrugged

"I've never thought of Cardiff to be a place infested with aliens. Do you find a lot of them?" Dakota said.

"Tons," he said

"Why?" Dakota asked, intrigued.

"Because who else will?" He said

"No, no, no, I mean why are there so many in Cardiff?" Dakota corrected.

"There's a rift," he said simply

"A rift," Dakota echoed, puzzled by this. A rift in what? he thought.

"A rift in time and space. Aliens keep falling through it," Jack said to clear things up

"Oh," Dakota said, taking mental notes in his head.

"Yeah," Jack said
