Based on a true story Wonder OR-7, a wolf electronically tracked in the wild. The reader is taken high up into the Oregon, Pacific Northwest mountains following Swift, a wolf pup with no survival skills, separated from his pack now facing a world full of danger, but determined to survive. This a gripping story of courage as Swift encounters loneliness, fires and starvation and travelling a distance of more than a thousand miles (1,600 km) to find that place called Home. The story is full of beautiful black and white illustrations plus notes on the real wolf behind the story. Perfect for the student who loves animal stories, true stories and the reluctant reader. e.g. A Dog Called Homeless and the One and Only Ivan.
