Winner: Urban Fantasy
Romance w/child: The Lonely Season by Susan Napier - 25 September - ★★★. The child was a 7 year deaf boy done very well. Although the book was written very well, I didn't really enjoy it as much as I wanted to. Urban Fantasy: Summoning the Night by Jenn Bennett - 27 September - ★★★★. A good addition to the series. Very fast paced continuation of the first book. Arcadia did irritate me a bit at times and I'm uncertain of some developments. It has a May/December romance that is sort of working for me because the book doesn't really dwell on it (though I am certainly thinking about it). I'm definitely picking up the next book.

I want to re-read Bear Otter because on audio, that book drove me nuts. I keep hearing that book 2 was better.

that is exactly what I couldnt take. Bear's inner rambling and his need to be the ultimate martyr to the point of ridiculousness
Dee wrote: "I DnF'd book 2 in the bear/otter series - it was just too much"Ok, well now you guys are making me think I will not return to that series then. On audio, it grated my nerves

✼Danielle wrote: "I'm not going to read next book. As Dee said it's just a bit too much."There's a lot of inner rambling monologue and it IS a bit much. :) I could actually relate to his way of thinking because my brain actually does somewhat function like that. LOL.
I will say that if you're a reader who reads every single line, word by word, well, something might get thrown to the wall. ;) Audio book is a definite no-no if you have a low tolerance for babbling...
I skim read (I do it for UK-based textbooks too because...omg...too many redundant, purposefully confuzzling words!) so his rambling was a dim buzz at the back of my head.
