Gardens
Amity walked through the gardens, looking at all of the flowers. She did this everyday, amazed at how colorful they all are and how well they look together. It was at times like that when she wished she had real colored pencils instead of just one pencil so she could draw the amazing color with it.
Amity kept walking, paying attention to the flowers so much she hasn't been watching where she was walking. Suddenly, she walked into someone and they were both falling to the ground. "Oh! I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" Amity noticed it was the prince a moment later. "I'm sorry, Your Highness! Are you okay?"
"Of course, Your Highness." Amity nodded, expecting to get something to drink or something along those lines.
Amity smiled, not expecting that, but preferring it much more than what she usually has to do for them. "Of course." Amity walked over to the small patch of grass and flowers he was pointing to and bent down, touching a few of the flowers, but not picking them.
"Could I see them?" Amity asked politely after he had looked at the pictures. He was obviously an amazing photographer.
"Thank you. It was fun, I've never really done anything like that before. You're a really great photographer."
"Ah, yes. Won't don't you just have your brother do them? He's going to be the king, after all."
Amity laughed. "Of course. It's nice to actually meet you, Alexander." She figured he shortened his name somehow, but if would be informal for her, a maid, to call him that without him saying to or for her to guess.
Amity laughed a little. "Okay, nice to meet you Alex. You should probably get out of there before someone sees you."
"Of course. The head maids especially seem to hate me, for some reason. Any time I'm even a minute late, I'm yelled at and get a day's worth of extra work."
Amity shook her head sadly. "They always take it out on the younger maids. We work, well, lets see. From about 4 am, if not before, to about 11 at night." Amity nodded, as if confirming this.
"I'd say about…50? There aren't a lot of us, there are many more older women that are maids here."
Amity shook her head. "No, sir. Well, we can take time from either the morning before everyone else starts working, or after everyone stops working to take a small break during the day. I don't count that as a break, though, because we still have to work as long as we normally do."
"Of course, thank you." Amity smiled at him before running off.
((Yeah))
Ara ran into the garden just as another girl, obviously a maid, passed by. She noticed Alex a little farther up. "Hey Alex!"
((Yeah))
Ara ran into the garden just as another girl, obviously a maid, passed by. She noticed Alex a little farther up. "Hey Alex!"
Area stood in front of her older brother, a smirk on her face and an eyebrow raised. "So, what have you been up to this time?"
Ara nodded slowly. "Yeah, sure you were. Who was that?" She said, motioning behind her, to the girl that was already gone. "I've never seen her before."
"Here we go again! Me, I'm never nosy! You and Ash, on the other hand, you two are a work in progress! A very long work in progress."
"Well, it's not my fault! If you answered them without being suspicious, I wouldn't ask any more questions." She said, not sounding as though she was as old as him, which she kind of was. (She's 10 months younger)
Camille strolled around the garden smiling widely. She heard that some girls were going to the palace and her brother would have to pick who he would marry out of them. Hopefully her new sister in law would be honest and caring not selfish and self centered, she didn't know if she could trust her brothers judgement but she was trying hard to reassure herself.
Ara had continued walking around the garden gracefully, and noticed her younger sister. A smile grew across her face. "Cami!"
Camille giggled, " Hey, Ara!" She ran up to her and hugged her sister, " Can you believe it?" " Soon we get a sister in law!!"
"I know! I'm so excited, there are going to be 35 girls my age here! Lets just hope Ash can choose right."
" I'm going to try to trust his judgment this time hoping he won't choose a snobby little girl who only wants to be the next queen," Cami rolled her eyes, "If he picks someone bad I'll make her life miserable!"
Ara nodded. "Agreed. His too." She sighed. "I hope he'll choose someone like mother. She's wonderful."
