Hello, all! After a discussion about Goodreads giveaways on Facebook today, and after talking to a few other folks about how individual Goodreads groups host giveaways from time to time, we've received an incredibly generous offer from M.P. Johnson. He's offering a copy of Dungeons & Drag Queens to one lucky group member. All you have to do is be a member of this group, and leave a message below saying you are interested. Hopefully, we can get a few people interested enough to join the lucky winner in a group or buddy read. This group needs some work done to get us all a little more active, so along with your message saying you want entered in the giveaway, add an idea or two about how to make this group more active and involved. Would you be interested in monthly group reads with featured authors or publishers? Would you like challenges? More giveaways? Let us know! Post a message saying you want in on the drawing (ideas and suggestions for the group in general are encouraged, but not required), and on October 6th, we'll choose a winner via random number generator. THANKS SO MUCH, DUDES & DUDETTES!

Bizarro 101 would help. I feel some people still have no idea what Bizarro is.

I'm always down for group reads.

I may have internet at my house soon so typing will be better. Instead of from my phone (which is annoying all to Hell)

I know , Donald. We were both made mods like a year ago, and still haven't cleaned the group up much. I know its Bizarro, and therefore somewhat 'fly by the seat of your pants,' but I'm OCD as FUCK! I like organizing and group reads and buddy reads and challenges (we could do a horror themed October challenge!), and stuff like that. I'm on a vacation type break right now, so I'm going to archive the hell outta some topics tomorrow!

Also, I'm SURE we could get some authors to join us here and there, Matt. I know a couple that I'm sure would be down whenever. That's where an 'author of the month' could come in handy. It helps the author get exposure and it helps us fans learn more about the writers we love!

I'm also thinking some links to www.bizarrocentral.com would be quite useful...

Cory Cline (corycline) | 9 comments A second chance? Thank you for the heads up, Erika!

message 8: by Christian (new)

Christian (themonsterwith21faces) Definitely interested.
I just joined, so I can't suggest much. I personally wouldn't be into group reads, sometimes I have a bunch of free time, sometimes I'd have none so my reading is erratic. I obviously like giveaways, ebook giveaways avoid shipping costs and I'd be happy with that.
I'd like Q&A with authors and stuff. I'm considering getting into writing bizarro fiction and would like to hear more behind-the-scenes stuff. thanks!

Rodney | 81 comments I am definitely interested in getting a copy of the book. M.P.'s piece in the Strange Sex 2 anthology was beyond disturbing. Of all groups I am part of this is my favorite, with the most potential. I do feel that more effort on my part is due, especially with group reads. Personally, more challenges and giveaways would be a plus. Many thanks to Teresa and Donald for what they do.

I like the comments dropping in. We will start getting things popping real soon. Teresa and I just have to discuss a few things.

Raye I think the books you have would be good for New readers. We will be in touch

Anthony | 1 comments I would be interested in this. I entered the giveaway for it, but no luck. Unfortunately I have no suggestions for increased activity in the group

message 16: by Michael (new)

Michael (michaelnoe) | 31 comments I'm interested as well. If you need some links shared I'd be willing to do it

message 17: by Shamus (new)

Shamus McCarty | 21 comments We already have a copy at my house so I won't enter. I just want to say it's awesome to see this group active again and I'd like to see a self promotion section. It lets people know where to go to check out new promos and keeps the whole board from becoming an advertisement.

I'm working on deleting some old threads now. It's kinda hard because I don't want to offend anyone by deleting their shit. But by the end of the day, there should be several more folders and lots of archived shit. I'll make a folder for self-promotion :-)

I am so sorry that this topic has been locked! I have no idea what happened, but hopefully it won't re-lock again. I'm very sorry to anyone that couldn't enter yet, but there's still a few days left! Get your name up here, guys and dolls! Very sorry about the mix-up!

Okay, soooooo its that time!!! All the names on little slips of paper, a hand goes into the hat, and....drumroll, please.....THE WINNER IS CORY!!! Congratulations! PM me with your address information, and I will pass them along. And anyone who is willing to do a group read, well, get your copies ordered and ready to go, and we'll host the group read/buddy read in a week or so. Thanks for participating, guys!

Cory, are you alive, buddy? PM me your info so I can get the book headed your way. Anyone that knows Cory should give him a heads up. If we don't here from him relatively soon, we'll have to draw another winner :-(

Which would be awesome for another winner, but not so cool for Cory...
