What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

Trying to find this book that I read recently - I cannot remember anything about the title or cover, but the story started with her saying she was 16 and that in 6 months or so, she wanted to have had a significant life changing event to have happened to her and wanted to get a boyfriend. Then her best friend (who goes to a different school) befriended this other girl, who was living with her aunt because of abuse at her house. The protagonist was jealous at first but then became really close to this new girl, who was a “bad influence”.

Anyone know what book I’m talking about? I THINK that the protagonists’ name is Emma, but I could be terribly wrong.

Forgot to say (sorry I’m new here): book js pretty recently set and is YA.

Furthermore: the story is set in England (I’m pretty sure about that). She has a “normal” wealthy family, and a sister Taryn! I remember now that she also had a pretty weird name (not Emma AT ALL lol)



SPOILER AHEAD: I also remember the ending: the “troubled” girl tries to commit suicide, but they find her just in time, on the beach.

Beautiful Broken Things by Sara Barnard. The main character is Caddy, and her sister is Tarin.
