POSSIBLE SPOILERS !!!!!!!! -----although I will try NOT to spoil!
================================================

So... I got a hold of an Advanced Readers Copy (ARC) that was given out by TOR at the San Diego Comic Con.

It's not the final version... but seemed pretty error-free to me (only a few little typos spotted). I'm not sure how much editing is being done before the final version. (I'm guessing not that much at this stage?)

I hadn't been keeping up with all the news on this so the concept was intriguing: What if the hero who prophesy is relying upon to save the world dies before he can do anything?

OK--that's different. So many ways to go with this.

There were things that reminded me of KDT. Those who are looking for a similar style of storytelling should be happy.

The characters are engaging in most aspects, but with some quirks that make them a little unexpected (and some that reminded me of some KDT characters).

It's difficult to tell where the story is going. Some will like this and some won't, but I find KDT a bit that way, too.

Worldbuilding-- not that much of the world shown in the first book. It's not the KDT world... magic works a bit differently, and there seem to be different social structures in place. But it's not wildly different (seems similar in technology level, anyway). There are kings and nobles and soldiers and officers and villagers. Here there are gods and their realm, and lots of interference by said gods. There are non-humans around.

This series has some macabre elements, right from the first...

I'm for sure interested in re-reading this and reading the rest of the series.

I will look forward to hearing what you all think about it if you read it when it comes out!

FATE OF THE FALLEN has been officially released.

And I just met Kel Kade at an author tour for the book at Mysterious Galaxy Bookstore in San Diego. Wheee!

Unfortunately, I'm an idiot, so I didn't ask any good questions about this series OR KDT!!! Sorry!

I did learn that this series will most likely be a Trilogy. It is not set in the same world as KDT.

People asked about getting a hard copy edition of KDT and a bit was said about big-house publisher interest in KDT. Kel prefers to keep control over the e-book versions of KDT, which publishers usually want to buy along with hard copy publishing rights. Big house publishers would charge more for e-books. So, mostly likely it will all have to be done independently, which takes time and lots of money... but it could eventually happen.
