Jan Mc (mcfitzsatx) | 301 comments I think the title of the article needs work, but the news itself is interesting.

End of audiobook snobbery as scientists find hearing and listening activates the same parts of the brain

"Neuroscientists have discovered that the same cognitive and emotional parts of the brain are stimulated whether a person hears words, or reads them on a page."

Dee (austhokie) | 1983 comments its a good study but i'm hestiant to say its definitive when it only included 9 people

Audiblelovers.com | 76 comments I disagree.
Listening to audiobooks, eyes closed, must effect much more in your head than reading (and usually hearing noises right or left...)....

I think audiobooks are much more effective telling a plot, story than reading can.
Braille reading might also be more effective than classical reading... Less distraction...

“Neurolink“ (or similar products) in a couple of years will probably be even more effective than audible...

Sky Leach (skyleach) | 1 comments Out of curiosity I clicked the link. I don't have any issue with the claims at all, it would surprise me if there was any measurable difference in stimulus. That said, the telegraph can suck it. They barely reference their sources and never link publication numbers or citations. They attempt to phish subscriptions through their amazon login links (attempting to authorize payments disguised as authentication-only) and regularly sensationalize science articles.

I suggest you stop bothering to read that gossip rag.
