Small body counts. Very few explosions. He managed to make a "stop world war" plot surprisingly mundane.

Silva is one of the small number of espionage writers who's known for "getting it right" -- his depiction of intelligence operations is more accurate (=quieter, lower body count, far fewer explosions) than the action thrillers. He's more on the John Le Carre end of the spectrum.
