Do you have your book? (If not what’s the plan?)
What was your reading goal for this week and what page are you on?
2-3 sentences: What was something interesting about the book that you discussed with your group this week?

Areej Ali | 6 comments Our reading goal currently is 69 pages and I am on page 69. Something interesting was that the Russians were planning to use women in space because they were more emotionally stable in space.

Elaina Urban | 6 comments Our reading goal was to get to page 69 and I'm on page 58. I'm enjoying this book as it contains women's history intertwined with science and engineering history. However, at certain points in this book, I almost resent the author's tone. She markedly denounces femininity while praising the particularly tomboyish nature of Jerrie Cobb, which is something that has no place in a book with such a striking feminist undertone.

Areej Ali | 6 comments I learned that the women's space program was cancelled due o mysterious govermental deciasions. I think this book would be great for girls who are interested in space.

Beatriz V | 2 comments I learned that even thought the fight to fly a aircraft was hard going to space was a lot harder for wonem then they thought it would be.

Elaina Urban | 6 comments (I went on a mini vacation, sorry this is 2 days late) I learned more about the reality and injustices that most women had to face during this time period.
