The October read is The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson. This is a short novel and we can finish the book in three weeks.

Week 1: October 1-7 Chapters 1-3
Week 2: October 8-14 Chapters 4-6
Week 3: October 15-21 Chapters 7-9

I am eager to begin reading this book and I hope it is great, spooky choice for Halloween.

I've never heard of this book but the movie has been discussed recently in another group. They say it is terrific.

I found a copy at the library last week.

Sounds exciting
Another group I'm in is reading one of her other works for October.

Really looking forward to reading this, I read her short story "The Lottery" a couple years ago and it was pretty creepy. Hope this is the same!
