Do you think we should do book competitions? Read-a-thons?

Sorry. I was hungry. And I decided I should be healthy and eat a good source of potassium instead of hot chips. So yeah XD

I want to do those book contests and read-alongs (etc.) but we need more members and I'm horrid at planning those XD

XD It's all good...I'm hungry too but we have no snack food :(

I can organize them once we get new members ^.^ I just need ideas for what type of contests and such we should have

For the book reading and stuff we can have things like:
-Group read-alongs (if there's enough people willing to do them)
-Buddy reads? XD
-Contests for who can read the most books in a month/or year.
-Reading goals/challenges for the year? (we can maybe do that for 2015? If this group ever makes it to see 2015 LOL)
Umm stuff like that I guess xP

Okay *nods* I think that we should do the contests monthly instead of yearly and maybe when we reach a certain milestone like a certain amount of members we can do other contests. I'm thinking that we can have a millionaire contest where whoever reaches one million pages read wins? I agree that we should do buddy reads, those are easy to manage. We can also have members suggest challenges that they want as well.

Monthly. Yes. Das what I mean XD The millionaire contest sounds really great, but it's going to take slightly more to manage >:P

We can have this thing called "Blind Date with a Book"? I don't know how that can work, but I saw it somewhere where at this library, the librarians wrapped up a book and people would pick a random one and check home with them. Something similar can be done here?

It wouldn't take that much. Each person would get a post to keep updating and if someone reaches it it'll be easy to verify ^.^

Ooooo! I like that!! And I think I know how we can do that...I can make a picture with 5 rectangular gray spots that have a question mark on it and then each month we would decide which books would be each spot :D

Do you think there should be more things we should add before we open the group? :P I was thinking we could add the other debates/discussions/games when the group opens. Or do you think we should make the buddy reads now? :P

Oooh I've seen some blogs that do stuff like tournament things where either books of similar genres go against each other or like different romantic interests or ships and stuff.... Maybe we could do something like that?
