Which books made you cry or left you utterly emotional?


Weirdly, I tend to say I almost never cry when reading a book but the truth is (and I only realise it in that reading moment) I cry more often than I thought! :O
The last book that made me shed some small tears was A Court of Wings and Ruin when... (view spoiler)[Rhys died and I was reading so, so fast because I didn't want to believe that he was really gone. Fortunately, he came back. Yay! (hide spoiler)]

Books usually don't make me cry either but the book Was fehlt, wenn ich verschwunden bin left me so sad that I actually had to cry.

I cry more easily while reading... can't remember the last book that made me cry...
But I know I had to cry after finishing Allegiant and All the Bright Places

The first book that comes into my mind is When Breath Becomes Air. Especially during the last 20 pages, I couldn't hold back any longer and cried until the end of the book.

Yes! Same! Such a heartbreaking story.

"Johnny be good" by Paige Toon.
It almost too cheesy to be healthy :) But the ending just took my breath away. Loved the second book "Baby be Mine" just as much.

Wintergirls by Laurie Halse Anderson. You know not the whole book but a part closer to the end.

We Are Okay by Nina LaCour. There's something so soft yet lonely about the protagonists. Her best friend and her best friend's family being such beautiful people helps too.
