I also enjoy WWII novels set in Britain. However, not having direct experience with this period find it hard to work out if these novels depict this period well.I enjoyed the little details of the period Steve Robinson included in this book such as the mock turkey and the alternatives for stockings.
The first chapter of the novel got my attention immediately, and wondered what had happened in five days for Jason to be where he was. I enjoyed the switching back and forth between the present and past.
I really feel sorry for Mena - she is the child in the middle with an older sister and younger twins. Her family appear to be unlikeable, especially her mother, who comes across as quite nasty. Her father seems to be weak and her sister Mary more concerned with her own life.
I have to admit that WWII is my least favorite historical period to read about. I usually avoid books set then like the plague. I will give this one a try though, I already downloaded it.
My review of To The Grave is now up on the spoiler thread. Thanksgiving seems to have arrived early this year.

A question to start the discussion.
