The results of the poll are in! The group has selected these three titles (although you're welcome to share your thoughts on other horror titles too!):

Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn: The first book by the author of the popular Gone Girl, Sharp Objects is a disturbing examination of women's capacity for violence and evil.

Horns by Joe Hill Horns by Joe Hill: A creepy work filled with dark humor by the son of Stephen King. A film adaptation is set to be released on October 31st.

Let the Right One In by John Ajvide Lindqvist Let the Right One In by John Ajvide Lindqvist: A creepy Young Adult title translated from Swedish (sometimes as "Let Me In"), that's been adapted to film in both Sweden and the U.S.

Of course, if you missed the poll and there's some other horror title you'd like to discuss, feel free to do so!

David Tucker | 1 comments Horns is a fantastic read by a talented writer. Joe Hill has a perfect track record right now. If you enjoy Horns, I would suggest Heart Shaped Box and his book of short stories: Twentieth Century Ghosts. It has some of my favorite horror stories of all time in it.
And lastly, his graphic novel series: Locke and Key is amazing. Probably his best work to date.

Thanks for the tip David! I've picked up a copy of Horns on eBook, and I'm looking forward to it! Have you or are you planning to see the movie version?

Andrea | 12 comments I just finished Sharp Objects, which I enjoyed much more than Gone Girl. It was a different style of writing that I prefer and it lead up to a climax that was very unexpected. The story gave clues to each character's background of a very dysfunctional family, so you can try to predict the ending, but I'm guessing you would be wrong. I was totally wrong, and that didn't bother me at all. The women in the story have a tendency for violence and to just be all-out mean to others. That's right, watch out for us because you won't know what's coming next!
