Just finished the book and that was awesome! Definitely reminiscent of some of the cheesier horror movies that I've seen, but I loved every minute of it!It didn't end how I thought it would which was fantastic! Can't wait to hear what you all thought
Ahhh I completely agree with everything you just said Keeley o.m.g.What a TWIST. It soooo didn't end how I expected but I agree it was cheesy in the most wonderful way!! I just finished it and like I even want to reread it already?? It was great. So good. So good.
:D I'm definitely going to be reading more from this author now. This might become a yearly re-read for me every Halloween :)
OMG! I definitely didn't see that coming...a brilliant end. I'm completely spooked and have just ordered Hollow Pike. James Dawson is a very talented storyteller.
I really liked the ending - well done little twist! As I said in an earlier thread, I liked the writing style. It reminded me of the 90's teen horror movies (Scream, I Know What You Did Last Summer).A perfect book for October! I would recommend Dawson's "Cruel Summer" as well. Does anyone have other titles on their tbr for October?
You're totally right, I loved that 90's horror film style it had. I won't be reading any more horror, but I will be reading Horns, Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, and I also add some Edgar Allen Poe in there for fun c: I don't want to freak myself out but I still want an eerie theme.
"Horns" sounds like a great choice for October! Isn't the movie coming out at the end of the month? I am thinking about reading Doctor Sleep (before the newest King book comes out), Asylum and The Fall.
I've just started We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson. I'm also hoping to read The Woman in Black by Susan Hill and Canon Alberic's Scrapbook by M.R. James plus Hollow Pike. I don't think I'm brave enough for Stephen King yet!
OOhh I loved We Have Always Lived in the Castle and The Woman in Black. Great choices! :)I'm currently reading The Ghost Hunters by Neil Spring and loving it so much!
I'm still at beginning,..but now that y'all are saying jow great it is I CAN'T WAIT to get through it
