Jonathan Rhys Meyers for Criminy

I picture Colin O'Donoghue (Hook from OUaT) as Criminy.

Colin O'Donoghue is a good one, I was picturing Russell Brand


or a fair skinned Dave Navarro.


As for Casper I pictured Andy Whitfield (Spartacus TV Show).

I am also sold on Colin O'Donoghue. A very roguish and lovely man to gaze upon.

My runner up for Criminy would be Hiro Mizushima (any tokusatsu fan will recognize him as the title character from Kamen Rider Kabuto)


For Casper, I cannot get Orlando Bloom as Will Turner out of my head. It was the pirate-y garbs he wore in his introductory scene that did it.


I have an idea for Tish, but I am still trying to put a name to the face.

I'm totally with you on Colin as best pic for Criminy. I've been picturing him in my mind since he first appeared on the page.

It's easy to picture Colin O'Donoghue as Criminy since he plays a dashing scallywag pirate, but I think I'm with Alicia on this with Jonathan Rhys Meyers as Criminy, especially after seeing pictures of him as Dracula (Tv series).http://www.imdb.com/media/rm702271488...# I've also watched him play King Henry in "The Tudors". I think he'd pull off Criminy quite well! Though I'd have him wear contacts. /shrug

I can get behind Colin.... but I have been seeing a sort of cross between Ian Somerhalder in Vampire Diaries and Eric Balfour in Haven, but with long hair. Oooh or Tom Mison as Ichabod in Sleepy Hollow. I don't usually go for blondes so my fallback is Alexander Skarsgard for Casper.

Hmm, after a bit more of thought, why not Alan Rickman http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000614/?r... as Goodwill? His voice is what struck me for it, anyone can wear the hat and mustache but you need a great presence. I wonder how well he could do a southern accent.

Right? I haven't cast anyone in my head for any of the VF books in a long time and Colin O'Donoghue just immediately took over the part. I haven't cast anyone as Tish yet, though. Does anyone recall how she's described in the book?

I was seeing Tom Wilkinson as Goodwill.

In actuality I was picturing someone else, but I can't remember from where. Alan looks close to what actor I had pictured, but the sound of his voice was what got me.

He does have a good voice.

Michael Wincott gives good voice too, and in his younger days he would have been a brilliant Criminy.

I was thinking of her, too. But I've only seen her play meek and mild characters. Visually, she would be my choice.

Definitely Billie Piper for Emerlie Fetching. The second I read cockney accent I imagined her character in Penny Dreadful.

My initial reaction to Criminy was very negative, so at first I was picturing him as Colin O'Donoghue (I hate Hook). But as I started to warm up to him a little bit it switched over to Jack Huston.


Tish was immediately Lauren Cohan from The Walking Dead.

For Criminy I pictured Colin O'Donoghue, James Marsters, or Andrew Lee Potts

I had a hard time with Letisha, I could only come up with like Amy Adams because she can do the innocent/naive thing without being too annoying, but can also be tough.


I had an image for Casper but I just couldn't think of anyone who fit it. Personality wise I could see Dulé Hill (From Psych)

It's so weird, I see-saw between Colin O'Donoghue and Jack Huston as Criminy deciding on how much I like/dislike him at any given moment. That's never happened to me with a book before. When I'm really appalled by his behavior I picture Colin (because so much of Criminy's gross behavior is exactly like Hook's on OUAT), but when I'm not as bothered by him, in his few genuine moments with Tish I picture Huston. It's a little disorienting, to be honest.

I was picturing Colin O’Donoghue as Criminy too.

I haven’t settled on anyone yet for Letitia, but Jenna Coleman (Dr Who), Samantha Barks (Les Miserables, Willa Holland (Arrow), and Julia Goldani Telles all make sense to me. I could also see Alexis Bledel doing it too. Someone mentioned that she often plays meek characters. It would work here, because in this world she is forced to be a bit meek; there is danger everywhere she turns, and she has to rely on Criminy to take care of her because of that danger, and her own ignorance. Is it crazy that for Goodwill I was thinking of Jeff Bridges?

I immediately pictured James Cromwell as Goodwill

For Goodwill, I'd go with Wilford Brimley. Nothing would be more deceptive than seeing him with a sinister side.

I thought it was pretty clear the author based Criminy on a young Johnny Depp--Gypsy King? Magician and ring master? Intense eyes? Small cruel mouth? Not to mention the funky hands. Edward Scissorhands? Oh and his voice, couldn't you hear Jack Sparrow in there?




And Goodwill?

I know he doesn't fit the description, but as soon as I read "top hat" the only person I saw playing Criminy was Gene Wilder a la Willy Wonka. I really ruined the book for myself.
