When our beloved Charlie passed away in the 96, my daughters were convinced they saw his ghost coming out of a hidey-hole he had in the kitchen cupboards.
When he was a kitten, he managed to climb into the ceiling of the basement and we could hear him meowing through the floor. He was the sweetest chocolate point Siamese, but not too bright at times.

I lost Samantha kitty almost 9 years ago. I still will see a cat size shadow move about. I always think it’s Madison but when I really look, there’s nothing there

I agree with you both. I believe all sentient beings have spirit and that animals that form bonds, like cats, sometimes stay around or visit from whatever plane of existence that have gone to. The first cat that I had when a young girl, a beautiful white cat I called, not surprisingly, Beauty, I felt nearby for a long time after he died. I was so heartbroken by his death I have wondered that he stayed to get me through. Anyhow when I get to Heaven, if he’s not there I will think I’ve been sent to the other place.

I firmly believe all animals have souls and will join their people companions in heaven.

It is a nice thought that when we pass they will be there.

We have a cat staying here right now, my brother's cat Missy.

That sounds like fun, Joseph. How are things working out?

Fine. She's quiet during the day but is quite active at night.

That activity at night can be hard. My cat is older now but when he was younger he disturbed my sleep quite a lot.
